This original hand-coloured engraving is from James Sowerby's ”English Botany or, Coloured Figures of British Plants, with their Essential Characters, Synonyms and Places of Growth”, published by J. Davis in London in 1790 - 1814. First edition of the extensively illustrated botanical series. 


James Sowerby was an English naturalist and illustrator born in 1757 and died in 1822. He is best known for his extensive work in botanical illustration, particularly in his publication "English Botany." Sowerby produced thousands of detailed and accurate illustrations of plants, which were highly valued for their scientific precision. His contributions significantly advanced the study of British flora and made botanical knowledge more accessible.

Final Verdict I really like this product, but I’m deducting two stars for a total lack of customer service. I’ve decided to buy tools and fix it myself rather than deal with a heavy return. I hope the seller sees this and reaches out. The lesson learned is to check every part of a product before assembly.
