Installation Guide
- Disconnect the fuel line and remove the lower unit from the outboard engine following manufacturer guidelines. Drain all gear oil completely.

- Position the new gaskets (161603 and 161588) on the water pump housing, then reassemble the housing to the lower unit. Tighten fasteners to specified torque.
- Replace the old thermostat with the new unit (804540), ensuring the temperature-sensing element faces the correct direction. Install with new gasket (8035161).
- Install the new fuel filter (35-8M0157133) in the fuel line, ensuring flow direction matches the arrow marking on the filter body.
- Replace the lower unit oil seal (26-95348) and O-ring (25-16131) at the driveshaft. Install new drain gaskets (27-95220) at oil drain and fill ports.
- Use the gear oil pump (24OP149) to refill the lower unit with the correct grade and quantity of gear oil until it overflows from the vent hole. Replace drain plugs with new gaskets.
- Secure all components with new pins (17-815111Q02) and cotter pin (95295) as specified in your engine's service manual.
