The defining feature of the TRC 750 is independent tilt and recline — the back recline and seat tilt function separately, controlled by four manual levers housed on the push handle. Back recline range is 10 to 36 degrees. Seat tilt range is 5 degrees forward to 22 degrees reverse. The TRC 750 is in a class by itself in our catalog. It is the only chair we carry rated to 750 lbs. — 250 lbs. more than the next highest capacity chairs at 500 lbs. It is also the only chair with independent tilt and recline controls, which allows the caregiver to position the patient with precision that a recline-only chair cannot match. For patients above 500 lbs., or patients who require independent tilt-in-space and recline positioning, the TRC 750 is the correct solution. For patients up to 500 lbs. the Champion 56 Series or Drive Medical Extra-Wide are more appropriate and less costly options.
Recline changes the angle of the back rest relative to the seat — the seat stays level while the back moves. Tilt moves the entire seat and back as a unit — changing the patient's orientation relative to gravity without changing the hip and knee angles. On the TRC 750 these two functions are independent and controlled separately by four manual levers on the push handle. This allows the caregiver to recline the back without tilting the seat, tilt the seat without reclining the back, or combine both for precise patient positioning. For ultra-bariatric patients this level of control is important for pressure distribution, comfort, and safe positioning.
