INTRODUCTION:

Welcome to the Set Out, Cut & Flash Roof & Wall Penetrations course. This course only includes a challenge assessment designed to assess your knowledge and skills required to demonstrate competence in interpreting penetration flashing requirements, setting out and cutting roof and wall penetrations, fitting penetration products, installing purpose-made and proprietary flashings, applying fire resistant requirements and managing material compatibility, clean-up, maintenance and storage requirements.

Setting out, cutting and flashing roof and wall penetrations involves reading job plans, specifications, codes, Australian Standards, manufacturer specifications and jurisdictional requirements, then preparing materials, tools, equipment and PPE for safe and accurate flashing work. In real workplace practice, this skill area is important because roof and wall penetrations must be located, cut, supported, fitted and flashed correctly to suit services, penetration size and shape, product requirements, weatherproofing performance and compliance requirements.

The course assessment focuses on your ability to interpret flashing requirements; apply workplace, WHS and environmental procedures; prepare materials lists; select tools, equipment and PPE; locate existing and future services; set out and cut penetrations to tolerances; install supports and fit penetrating products; fix purpose-made and proprietary flashings; flash square, rectangular and circular penetrations to specified size requirements; apply fire resistant requirements; and manage material compatibility, electrolysis, capillary action, thermal expansion, corrosion prevention, clean-up, recycling, tool maintenance and secure storage.

By successfully completing this course assessment, you will have demonstrated that you can set out, cut and flash roof and wall penetrations by interpreting job requirements, applying safety and workplace procedures, preparing materials and equipment, accurately locating and cutting penetrations, fitting supports and penetration products, installing compliant flashings, managing fire resistant and material compatibility requirements and completing clean-up, recycling, maintenance and storage activities.

Value replacements
Size: Saros 10R/Qrevo CurvX/Edge 2 Accessories
As far as I can tell these are pretty solid replacements for the SAROS 10R. My original side brush was all torn up after just a few months of use so I found these replacement parts. Haven’t used the mop pads yet, but they are a similar design to the “upgraded” mop pads offered by Roborock which are superior to the standard one IMO. Everything else seems to be equal quality to the OEM parts, and at less than $12 I have no complaints on this kit.

Does not work for Qrevo Arc.

Filter does not fit my Qrevo Arc. Photo shows size comparison between my old (very dirty) filter and the replacement filter.

Solid replacement parts kit — just skip the mop pads
Size: Saros 10R/Qrevo CurvX/Edge 2 Accessories, Size: Saros 10R/Qrevo CurvX/Edge 2 Accessories
This kit has been a handy all-in-one refresh for my robot vacuum. The main brush, side brushes, filters, and dust bags all fit correctly on my Qrevo, slid in without fuss, and have been performing on par with the originals — suction feels unchanged, the side brushes kick debris toward the intake properly, and the filters look and seat identically to the ones they replaced. My one real complaint is the mop pads. They're noticeably thinner and flimsier than the OEM pads, don't hold water as well during a run, and left streakier lines on my floors compared to what I'm used to. I've ended up going back to the original-brand mop cloths and just using this kit for the dry-cleaning parts, which have genuinely been a good value. Four stars — great kit minus the mops.

Convenient Roborock Kit, but Quality Feels Lower than OEM
Size: Saros 10R/Qrevo CurvX/Edge 2 Accessories, Size: Saros 10R/Qrevo CurvX/Edge 2 Accessories
This is a convenient accessory kit for Roborock products, but my experience was mixed overall. I have a QX Revo Pro, not the Ultra, and I realized after the fact that the main brush in this kit is not compatible with my robot vacuum. That was my mistake, but it does limit how useful this particular set is for me. The kit includes a variety of parts, and it is nice to have so many replacements on hand in one package. However, the overall quality feels disappointing compared to my original Roborock accessories. The disposable vacuum bags are noticeably smaller than my OEM bags, which makes me question how often they will need to be changed. The mop pads also seem thinner and less substantial than the originals, and they do not look or feel like the same quality material. Because of these differences, I am concerned about the long term performance and durability of the replacement parts in this kit. While it is convenient and generally compatible with Roborock models, I am not confident that these accessories will hold up or clean as well as the OEM parts I am used to.
