COURSE OVERVIEW:

Welcome to the Introduction to Accounting course. This program will equip you with a foundational understanding of accounting as both a practical discipline and a critical tool for decision-making in all types of organisations. You will explore why accounting is essential, how it functions as the language of business, and how accounting information supports managers, owners, investors, lenders, regulators, and other stakeholders. This course also introduces key accounting concepts, systems, principles, conventions, and terminology that form the basis of modern financial reporting and internal record-keeping.

This course begins by examining the need and role of accounting and how accounting is considered the language of business through its ability to communicate financial information clearly and consistently. You will explore the meaning of book-keeping and accountancy, the core functions of an accountant, and whether accounting is best understood as a science, an art, or a combination of both. This section also provides definitions and explanations of accounting, identifies the various users of accounting information, and introduces the scope and branches of accounting, including financial, cost, and management accounting. You will explore the single entry system, the double entry system, the cash system, and the mercantile system of accounting, helping you understand the different approaches used to record financial transactions.

A further part of the program focuses on the objectives, advantages, and limitations of accounting. You will explore the advantages of accounting and book-keeping, why profit shown in financial accounting may not be fully exact, and why financial accounting does not always tell the whole story about an organisation’s performance. This section also examines how accounting statements may be prepared differently depending on judgments and assumptions, why not all assets are shown in financial statements, and how accounting terminology is used to describe financial activities and conditions.

The next learning area examines accounting principles, including the need for generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and the characteristics that make these principles reliable, relevant, and consistent. You will explore foundational concepts such as the separate entity concept, the money measurement concept, the dual aspect concept, the going concern concept, the cost concept, the accounting period concept, the matching concept, and the realisation concept. This section also introduces key accounting conventions including conservatism, consistency, materiality, and full disclosure, and explains how these conventions guide the preparation and interpretation of financial statements.

By the end of this course you will be able to understand the purpose and structure of accounting systems, distinguish between different accounting methods, apply basic accounting principles and conventions, recognise the limitations of financial reporting, and use accounting information to support sound financial decision-making.

Really cute suit for my son. Worth the price.
Color: Grey, Size: 10-11 Years, Color: Grey, Size: 10-11 Years
My son says he likes the color. He is 10 and we ordered the size 10 to 11 however he’s on the smaller side for 10 and he definitely has some room to grow so it will last us a while and it looks a little baggy on them for right now. However, the fabric is good quality. We like that it comes with a pocket square built-in and also the boutonniere for fancy occasions. I think this would be great for a wedding party or other occasions where you’d need more inexpensive but matching suits. Fabric quality reflects the price. The material is ok, but not gonna be an heirloom that’s passed down or anything. In the picture, he had shoved it into his clothes drawers and so it’s all wrinkled, but it actually does look great when it isn’t wrinkly. He’s been wearing this every week to Church on Sunday.

Good quality suit for kids
Color: Grey, Size: 10-11 Years, Color: Grey, Size: 10-11 Years
Comfortable, good-quality cotton/linen blend suit for kids. The suit is lined and he was excited that it has an inner pocket for a pen. I believe the suit fits true to size. In the photo I'm attaching, the suit is too large. I'll explain. We ordered a size 10-11 years, but my son is 9 years old. The suit size is actually a 150 (cm). My 9 year old son is currently 55 inches tall and weighs #61. His height of 55 inches translates to 140 cm - which explains why this is a little big/roomy on him. The product page has a size chart which translates the sizing in years (e.g. 9-10 years) into centimeters. If you measure your child before your order it will help you know what size to order. We haven’t ironed ours yet but plan to iron it when he's ready to wear it. We thought about exchanging it for the next size smaller but it's fall right now and this suit will be better for him in the spring/summer. We were pleased to see that this is a “normal” looking suit. Some of the dressy or fashionable clothes have some quirky or unusual elements to them. All in all, we’re pleased with this suit.

Summer wedding kids suit
Color: Navy, Size: 10 Years, Color: Navy, Size: 10 Years
Bought this suit for my son in the 10 youth size and honestly was pleasantly surprised by the quality for the price. The navy color looks sharp and dressy without being too stiff or uncomfortable. The material has a little stretch, which helped it fit nicely and made it comfortable for him to move around in. The adjustable waist was a huge plus, especially for growing kids. It fit true to size overall, though the blazer sleeves were slightly long on my son. The pants had a nice slim look without being too tight. We paired it with white sneakers for a more modern look and it came out adorable. This would be perfect for weddings, graduations, concerts, communion, school events, or family photos. Overall, very happy with the purchase and would definitely buy again.

Very Modern Handsome Suit
Color: Grey, Size: 7 Years, Color: Grey, Size: 7 Years
This is an incredibly sharp looking suit for the little guy. Great price and features, too. I made a mistake in sizing up instead of down and first one was too sloppy on him and would need alterations. He is thin and very thin in the waist. There is a lot of adjustment with buttons in waistband and coat hides the bunching. This shirt and coat will easily take a fuller body than slim I believe. He loves posing in it and feels very classy. Best purchase for a formal suit that will last longer than most kids clothes size wise. Felt bad about returning but careful folding and packing got it good as new.
