The files will be sent as soon as the payment is confirmed, which is why I don’t accept returns nor refunds. If there is any issue, don’t hesitate to contact me !
The pattern is composed of 8 pieces (without gores), declined in several standard sizes.
The corset will create fashionable body proportions for the time period.
It is constructed as a single layer corset with external boning casings.
The pattern includes a medium waist reduction (8 to 10 %) and hip padding to create a beautiful S-shaped silhouette known as S-bend.
Content of your purchase :
Upon your purchase, you will receive the following items :
- The pattern at a 1:1 scale composed of 10 A4 or US Letter pages
- The assembling instructions (in French and English) illustrated with photos, explaining step by step how to build this corset.
- A tutorial leaflet explaining how to choose the right size according to your measurements, a method to alter the pattern if you fall between two sizes, and how to pattern and assemble the hip pads and sew them to the inside of the corset
Nota : this pattern is historically compatible : this means it can also be used for historical reenactment with the proper choice of fabrics and assembling method. It’s up to you to express your creativity and your own knowledge !
Indications included in the pattern :
Seam lines, waist line, increase/decrease lines, grommet placement, straight grain and material yardage. The pattern does not include seam allowance.
Required supplies and notions (yardage and quantities are included in the pattern) :
Fashion fabric, coutil (or rigid cotton twill), double-sided fusible interfacing (such as Vliesofix), 2cm bating, plastic boning or synthetic whalebone, steel boning (for back lacing), metal busc, garter clips, metal D-rings, metal grommets, 2cm wide twill tape, back lacing ribbon, embroidery floss, lace.
Required supplies (additionally to basic sewing supplies)
Pattern paper, heat erasable pen (friction pen), water erasable pen (depending on the situation, both types of pen may be useful), cutting pliers, fine grit sandpaper, metal file, elastic non-woven surgical tape or matching end caps to cover the steel boning’s ends, loop pressing bars to make the boning casings, loop turner.
Required skills :
This corset is rather simple to assemble as it doesn’t include gores.
I have worked on the instructions to make them accessible to an intermediate seamstress or dress maker. No need to be a seasoned corset maker to build this corset, you only need to know how to sew a straight line (useful for the casings) and have a little experience with sewing instructions.
Nota : the corset displayed as illustration is not for sale.
