Installation Guide

  1. Safety First: Disconnect the battery cables from the battery before beginning any work.
  2. Remove Lower Unit: Drain the gearcase oil, then unbolt and carefully remove the lower unit (gearcase) from the outboard motor.
  3. Access Pump: Place the lower unit in a secure position. Locate and unbolt the water pump housing.
  4. Disassemble Old Pump: Carefully lift the old housing off. Remove the old impeller, woodruff key, wear plate, and gaskets. Note the orientation of the impeller fins.
  5. Clean Surfaces: Thoroughly clean the mounting surfaces on the lower unit and the driveshaft, removing any old gasket material or sealant.
  6. Install New Components: Place the new gasket and stainless steel wear plate onto the lower unit.
  7. Install Impeller: Insert the new woodruff key into the driveshaft. Slide the new impeller down the shaft while turning the shaft clockwise to correctly orient the fins inside the new housing cup.
  8. Secure Housing: Apply a light coat of marine grease to the inside of the housing. Place the new housing assembly over the impeller and secure it with the new bolts and washers, tightening them to the manufacturer's specified torque.
  9. Reinstall Lower Unit: Re-attach the lower unit to the outboard motor, ensuring the water tube aligns correctly with the pump outlet.
  10. Final Checks: Refill the gearcase with fresh oil. Reconnect the battery and start the engine using a water supply (flushing muffs) to verify proper water flow from the tell-tale outlet.

Troubleshooting & FAQ

Q: How do I confirm this kit fits my engine?
A: The surest way is to match your existing OEM part number to one of the numbers listed in our "Part Number Cross-Reference" table. Additionally, check your engine's model, horsepower, and year against our "Compatible Engine Models" list. For Yamaha owners, our linked serial number guide can help you confirm your exact model and year.

Q: What are common signs of a failing water pump impeller?
A: Key indicators include a weak or non-existent water stream from the tell-tale (pee hole), an engine overheating alarm, or a noticeable drop in water pressure on your gauges. A visual inspection of the old impeller may show cracked, brittle, or missing fins.

Q: How often should I replace the water pump impeller?
A: As a crucial preventative maintenance item, it is recommended to replace your water pump impeller and service the pump every 1-2 years or every 100-200 hours of operation, depending on usage conditions (e.g., more frequently in saltwater or sandy/muddy water).

Q: OEM vs. Aftermarket?
A: This listing is an aftermarket replacement part (not an OEM component). We build to OEM specifications using comparable-grade materials. Production is done in an ISO9002-certified facility, and each batch is inspected for consistent performance.

Q: How fast do you ship and how much does it cost?
A: We offer fast global shipping—typically 5–15 days worldwide—and standard shipping is free. Expedited options are available at checkout depending on your location.

Q: What is your warranty and return policy?
A: This product includes a 1-year warranty against manufacturing defects under normal use. If something goes wrong, contact our support team with your order details. Returns are accepted within our standard return window (unused & in original condition); please see our policy page or reach out for instructions.

Very Different, But Works Well
This is built much different than the others. It has a foam seal around the edges. The filter portion is standard, but the carbon activated material is a setoff beads suspended between a screen a honeycomb structure. There is air freshener built-in to help with the smell in the car. Fits well in my 2015 RAV4. Just as easy to install as any other filter. The price is on the high side so with this one I am hoping to get at least one year of use from it.

Well-Made Carbon Cabin FIlter
I love the honeycomb carbon filter on this cabin filter. It looks like it will do an excellent job cleaning the air in my car. It came in a cardboard box and was easy to install and fit my Toyota well. I would have appreciated some arrows on it, like other filters come with, to let me know I was inserting it correctly. I just followed the example of the one already in my car. If you accidentally take that one out first, you may not remember which side goes where. So, my improvement would be arrows on the filter itself. Otherwise, the airflow seems great, it functions well and seems to be a great quality!

Use activated carbon to clean the air naturally!
This is a serious air filter with activated carbon inside of it and I'm here for it. I use little activated carbon bags in my car already as an air freshener because I hate those fake chemical scents from the little trees or from the car wash. The chemicals in those fake scents give me migraines. I absolutely love the idea of putting the active carbon in the cabin air filter itself to clean the air. This fits prefecture in my 2017 toyota prius v. It was just a easy to install as any purge cabin air filter. The hardest part is opening all the parts of the glove box to get the old one out. This filter seems sturdier than my last one and it's a good value for the money.

Perfect fit for 2016 Corolla!
Fit's my 2016 Corolla perfect. Has a sturdy frame. Other name brand ones I have purchased before don't have the sturdy frame and squish up. This comes with tiny fragrant beads on the top part and has a light fresh scent when the air is on. Very happy so far.

Good fit, good value
Style: CF12436 Classic, Style: CF12436 Classic
Purchased this filter for my 2023 Outback. First off changing the cabin filter on this model Subaru is amazingly easy and can be done with no tools and no more then 5 minutes. Pictures posted show packaging, the paper "Blue" filter side, the "Black" charcoal side and the foam outer edge. The filter is well made and is very sturdy as the outer shell is plastic vs. other paper filters that are more flexible. Holding the filter in your hand and giving it a slite shake you can hear the activated charcoal within it. After installing the filter I had a few trips in the car, did I notice any difference in the air quality coming into the cabin....... no. But does this mean its not working? also no. What I can say is the filter fit snug and left no gaps, and with the plastic surroundings and foam in sure the filter will not be letting anything get by as it passes through the system. All and all this filter is well made and sturdy, and seems to be a good value with other paper only filters being about the same price.
