UnVeil contains the latest collection of effects fresh from the mind of Manos Kartsakis (author of V & V2). Between the pages of this beautiful hardcover book Manos teaches five of the most powerful routines within his repertoire.

There are no language restrictions for any of these effects and the routines included will play equally as well on stage as they do for a more intimate audience. The first print run is limited to only 500 copies.

Brick Opener:

This routine utilizes my controlled coin toss technique. Unlike similar techniques where the coin is spined on a table, in this technique the coin is tossed in the air where it clearly spins uncontrollably until you catch it again. It looks 100% identical to a legitimate coin toss but you will be able to control the outcome every single time with 100% accuracy. The applications of this technique are truly limitless.

Drawing a blank:

This is the peek method I have been using for more than 10 years and it has never failed me. The challenge I set to myself when creating this was to be able to leave the room when the spectator writes something down on a card and when I return clearly state that I am not going to touch it again. Then tell them what they are thinking. This is as close as I got to that goal. The card never goes in an envelope, wallet or anything else and the routine feels completely hands off. Points to consider:
  • You are safe even if the spectator's handwriting is really bad or small.
  • You are safe even if they decide not to write anything on the card just to mess with you. You will still know what they did.
  • No gimmicks. Nothing can malfunction. Instantly resets. Start clean, end clean. I love this routine and I think so will you.
Real which hand:

The cleanest approach to the plot I could come up with. The spectator can place any object in one of his hands behind his back, you even tell them which hand most people put it in and they have a completely free choice to switch or not, and then without asking them any questions about which hand they placed it in or if they switched or not, you always know where the object is. No truth teller/liar plot, no gimmicks necessary.

ProMetheus:

My favorite which hand routine. Can be performed on the biggest stage or at the beach. Two spectators take part, they hide a coin in one of their hands. You ask each of them a single question (Is it in this hand?) to which they can lie or tell the truth and then you ask them to think of a different word depending on the location of the coin (If it's in this hand think of "x" if it's not think of "z"). You can immediately tell them which word they are thinking, where the coin is, who was lying/telling the truth and as a kicker, you reveal a prediction that will leave them stunned.

Essay: Prop-less or More?:

An essay describing my thoughts on what organic magic/mentalism is as well as the benefits/drawbacks of using prop-less methods or traditional methods.

Invisible Die:

An invisible die is handed to the spectator who rolls it and makes a choice depending on the number that comes up. This routine enables you to force the choice the spectator makes and also show that you have predicted the number he rolled.

What a great cat toy!
Size: 100 Pcs
So I bought two of these. One for me and the house cat and one for my niece and her garage/indoor cat. My cat is nearing her 16th year in the world and loves attacking these balls…when she is in the mood and not sleepy. They are great to throw at her, as she will bat at them or catch and bite them. They are super light weight and will not hurt the cat even when triggered by the gun. The gun will launch the ball a good yard or so, but it’s much more interesting if you angle it up and towards the cat as they will watch and attack as it falls. I have tried endlessly to make a video but she stops every time I hit record. It’s not just with this toy but with anything I try and catch her doing…hit record and she is suddenly on her best behavior or walks away. :/ I recommend this product for bored household cats and I think even the young ones would have more fun with it. I should mention that the gun noise might be a bit jarring to cats, but if you put a small hair tie (like the small clear ties) around the back pull- piece (this is the piece you pull back to cock the gun and put a soft ball in the chamber) it mutes the sound of the gun being fired. Overall, the cat and I are happy with this product.

It's funny but cheap
My cat does enjoy chasing the little fluff balls around and then batting them for a few seconds than looking back at me for more. It's good for some good laughs and entertainment but the fluff balls and little plastic shooter are honestly dollar tree level quality. The shooter has one flimsy spring and looking at the placement inside it seems like something that'll fall apart pretty fast. Not worth $11 or $8, this should be >$5 easily.

Dangerous
Size: 30 Pcs
My 1 year old cat loved to chase the balls, but who ever designed these balls should be ashamed of their selves. They balls are to small and easy for the cat to chew on and swallow!!! My cat just got done with an extremely costly surgery because he swallowed 3 of the balls he must of hid them somewhere because he usually did not play with them unattended. Never mind the pain my poor sweet baby just went through. I would never purchase something where somebody has not tested the size and shape of something to make sure that it is safe for an animal, sad to assume that somebody would create such a toy without checking that out and putting a animal through this nightmare. This is the first time in my that I have ever done a review, but I would never want somebody to go through what my cat and I have just experienced. Had to him to the emergency room on a Sunday to a follow up appointment at the vet on a Monday and then another follow up appointment on a Tuesday to redo the ultrasound to on Wednesday another appointment to check them and then him having to go in for an emergency surgery on Thursday. The problem is, he didn’t eat them all at one time so they obviously were sitting in his tummy until he started getting sick and throwing up. I will be checking into this company a bit deeper as well, so please be aware and don’t ever purchase something like this.
