Getting your Possession and Acquisition License (PAL) and Restricted Possession and Acquisition License (RPAL) together is more efficient, cost-effective, and "future-proofs" your ability to own a wider variety of firearms.
1. Cost and Time Efficiency
- Combined Training: The courses are often taught back-to-back over one weekend (Non-Restricted on Saturday, Restricted on Sunday), saving you from attending two separate training weekends.
- Reduced Fees: It is cheaper to take the combined course and submit one application for both, rather than paying for a PAL now and paying extra fees to upgrade to an RPAL later.
- Faster Process: You only have to go through the application, reference check, and background check process once.
2. "Future-Proofing" Your License
- Avoid Retaking Courses: The courses are valid for life. If you only get your PAL and later decide you want a handgun, you will have to find an instructor and retake the restricted course.
- Changing Interests: Many shooters start only wanting to hunt with rifles but later become interested in target shooting with handguns or restricted rifles. Having the RPAL from the start saves you the hassle later.
- Potential Law Changes: It is easier to get an RPAL now than to wait, as regulations may change, making it more difficult to obtain in the future.
3. More Opportunities
- Broader Training: The RPAL course provides additional, in-depth safety training on handgun handling and legal responsibilities, making you a better-informed gun owner.
- Range Requirements: Many shooting clubs prefer or require members to have an RPAL for insurance purposes and to simplify range safety monitoring.
- Employment Opportunities: An RPAL is necessary for many jobs in law enforcement, security, and the firearms industry.
Important Considerations
- The "Handgun Freeze": While the 2022 federal "handgun freeze" makes it difficult to purchase new handguns, you still need an RPAL to purchase or own other restricted firearms, to own handguns you already have, to shoot them at ranges, or to rent them.
- One License, One Expiry: You will only receive one physical card, which will be valid for both non-restricted and restricted firearms.

Can a minor take these courses?
Minors aged 12-17, with parental or guardian approval, can take both of these courses but can only apply for a PAL. You must be 18 or older to apply for the RPAL. -
What happens if I fail the exam?
You need to book a re-test for $99, please check with our staff for available times. -
What time should I arrive?
The courses start at 9:00am. Non-Restricted is up to 8 hours of instruction, and Restricted is up to 6 hours of instruction. -
What should I bring?
A pen, light snacks / lunch, and a water bottle -
What is the cancellation policy?
You may reschedule your course up to 48 hours prior to the day, sorry no refunds. -
Can I take only the Restricted course?
You are required to take the Non-Restricted course before you can take the Restricted course. -
Do you offer the course in languages other than English?
We have instructors that speak English, French, Spanish, German, Mandarin, Cantonese. However the course will be instructed in English. The examination (multiple choice) will be witten in English or French, and the verbal instructions during the practical exam will be given in English.

Canadian Firearms Safety Course
First-time licence applicants must pass the Canadian Firearms Safety Course before applying for a Possession and Acquisition Licence. After the in-class instruction, you will do both a written and a practical test.
Anyone 12 years or older can take the Canadian Firearms Safety Course. Children under 12 can take the course, but only for educational purposes. They will not do the written or practical exams. To get a Minor's Licence to borrow and use non-restricted firearms, the minor must be between 12 and 17 years old.

Perfect for Bulletproof Coffee, Shakes, and Daily Use
I have been using the previous FoodVille frother since 2024 and I still rely on it, but the MF06 is definitely a real upgrade. The build quality is better, it is simple to use, and the sturdier attachments feel more durable. I love the single‑button variable speed control! The new digital display is another nice improvement, and I find the charge lasts longer, which by the way, it charges by USB so no batteries needed. I use it daily for bulletproof coffee, protein shakes, and for mixing other supplements. Customer service has been excellent and always responsive.
I am very happy with this purchase. For the price and performance, it is an excellent choice!

I love it!

This thing works great! It holds a charge for a long time. I love that it has different attachments. I use it mainly for mixing powder into my drinks. It is very powerful. The speed is adjustable too. It feels good to hold too. It lights up when you squeeze the trigger and when it starts losing charge, the light bar gets shorter. I highly recommend it.

Perfect all-around frother, stand keeps it nice and neat on the counter within easy reach.

Rechargeable, lightweight, variable speeds and optional whisks all make this the perfect item for your kitchen. You can quickly froth milk for your coffees, whip a small batch of whip cream, and even make mug cakes with the hook attachment. The price is very compatible with the competitors, but the ease of use makes this a top choice.
The variable speeds makes it much better to control than the push button ones. When you let go of the pressure switch it turns off, no need for a dedicated on-off switch. Having the pressure switch on the top makes it extremely easy to use! It fits very comfortably in the hand and with the metal stand, looks quite nice on the counter, ready to use at any time. I highly recommend this InstaWhisk!

Great product from a great company

Great Frother - almost too powerful

I’ve been using the Tyohur InstaWhisk milk frother for a while now, and overall I really like it—but I wouldn’t quite give it 5 stars, and honestly it’s because it might be a little too powerful for its own good.
First, the positives: this frother does an amazing job. The single-button control is super easy to use, and I love that you can adjust the speed just by how much pressure you apply. It feels very intuitive, and you can really dial in the exact texture you want. Whether I’m making a latte or mixing something thicker like a protein drink, it handles everything smoothly.
The performance is seriously impressive. On the lower speeds, it creates nice, silky foam, and when you turn it up, it’s incredibly fast—like café-quality foam in seconds. High-speed frothers like this are designed to create rich foam very quickly, and this one definitely delivers on that promise
That said, the power is also what knocks it down a star for me. If you’re not careful (especially when using higher speeds), it can splash pretty easily. The product description says it’s designed to prevent mess with stable low-RPM operation, and that’s true if you stay on the lower settings—but once you ramp it up, you really need to keep the whisk fully submerged or start slow, or it can send milk flying out of the container
