Released in December 1999, the Panasonic SJ-MJ35 is rather unique as it is a slot-loading device.
To insert a disc, you simply push it into the device, rather than opening a flip-top lid first.
It is dedicated to disc playback, and does not have disc recording functionality.
At the time it delivered comparatively impressive playback duration from a single battery.
It is simple to operate compared to many similar devices.
Due to its age it does not have support for MDLP.
It weighs 89 grams without a battery or disc installed.
It has a 3.5 mm headphone jack for audio output.
