Installation Guide

  1. Safety First: Disconnect the battery and ensure the sterndrive is securely supported in a raised position.
  2. Relieve System Pressure: Place absorbent rags under the hose connections to catch any residual hydraulic fluid.
  3. Disconnect Old Hoses: Carefully disconnect the old hoses from both the trim cylinders and the hydraulic connector block. Note the routing of each hose.
  4. Compare Parts: Before installation, lay the new hoses next to the old ones to confirm an exact match in length and fittings.
  5. Install New Hoses: Connect the new hoses, starting with the fittings at the connector block. Do not overtighten the connections initially.
  6. Connect to Cylinders: Attach the other end of the hoses to the correct port (left) and starboard (right) trim cylinders.
  7. Tighten Fittings: Securely tighten all hose fittings to the manufacturer's recommended torque. Be careful not to cross-thread.
  8. Refill Fluid: Fill the power trim reservoir with the appropriate power trim/tilt hydraulic fluid.
  9. Bleed the System: Reconnect the battery. Cycle the trim system up and down several times to purge any air from the lines.
  10. Check for Leaks: With the system pressurized, carefully inspect all connections for any signs of leakage.
  11. Final Fluid Check: After bleeding the system, re-check the fluid level in the reservoir and top off as necessary.

Troubleshooting & FAQ

Q: How do I confirm this hose kit fits my MerCruiser drive?

A: This kit is designed for MerCruiser Alpha One (Gen 1 & 2), R, MR, and Bravo (1, 2, 3) sterndrives. To ensure a match, verify that your trim cylinders are 16-3/16" long (often marked with casting #14035-1). You should also cross-reference your existing part numbers with those this kit replaces: 32-864959, 32-864960, and 32-99904Q.

Q: What are the signs my trim hoses need replacing?

A: The most common indicators of failing hoses are visible hydraulic fluid leaks around the fittings or along the hose length, physical damage like cracks or blisters on the hose casing, or a 'spongy' and slow response when operating the trim/tilt system.

Q: Is this kit a complete replacement?

A: Yes, this is a complete aftermarket kit containing all four hoses needed for a full replacement: the port and starboard cylinder pressure hoses and the two shorter connector hoses.

Q: OEM vs. Aftermarket?

A: This listing is an aftermarket replacement part (not an OEM component). We build to OEM specifications using comparable-grade materials. Production is done in an ISO9002-certified facility, and each batch is inspected for consistent performance.

Q: How fast do you ship and how much does it cost?

A: We offer fast global shipping—typically 5–15 days worldwide—and standard shipping is free. Expedited options are available at checkout depending on your location.

Q: What is your warranty and return policy?

A: This product includes a 1-year warranty against manufacturing defects under normal use. If something goes wrong, contact our support team with your order details. Returns are accepted within our standard return window (unused & in original condition); please see our policy page or reach out for instructions.

Heavy Duty!!
Performed extremely well. No buzzzing or poor connection. Extremely well built and has been working issue free for over 6 months! Instalation can be a bit difficult due to size and weight. Not really a problem.

Seems to be ok for the money
We use it to power a 2000w inverter for the refrigerator and microwave on our boat where sometimes it will stay on continuously throughout the day and it hasn't let us down. As others have said, the terminals are awful close together but for the money, it's worth it.

Been doing great since 2020
Used this to replace the charging solenoid on my diesel motorhome. Originally used a White-Rodgers OEM relay and it only lasted about 18 months. This has been going strong since 2020 and I use my motorhome about 10 months out of the year with lots of miles.

Buy something better
This relay has experienced failure again after just a couple of months of use. It's not the mag coil that fails but rather the contacts are of such low quality that they corrode beyond their ability to conduct power, and fast. I have had to change two of these so far and am on the third one. The seller will ship replacements but who wants to keep replacing them? I have to travel in my RV with a spare. This relay has never been exposed to the elements. It's safely mounted inside a sealed bay. Be aware of any brands that look like this, they are all the same.
