The Ancient Art of Wood-Firing:
This teacup was created using one of the oldest and most revered pottery techniques - wood-firing in an anagama (climbing kiln). The firing process lasts multiple days, often a week or longer, with potters continuously feeding wood into the kiln to maintain temperatures around 1200-1300°C (2200-2400°F). This intensive, labor-intensive process creates effects that can never be achieved with modern electric or gas kilns.

Natural Ash Glaze (Shizen-yu):
The stunning colors and patterns on this cup are entirely natural, created by wood ash settling on the unglazed porcelain during the extended firing. As the temperature reaches its peak, the ash melts and forms a glaze, creating organic flows, drips, and color variations.
