"Attractively aromatic pinot noir with plum, violet, cassis, anise and spice flavours. Clearly the product of a good vintage with pronounced ripe fruit flavours and impressive concentration. Good value at this price" Bob Campbell, Master of Wine, Real Review

"Primary, fruity, varietal, gently savoury and enticing bouquet. Signature aromas of dark red berry fruits of cherry and spicy plum, a fine savoury seam layers in complexity and depth, there’s a youthful energy and lifted sweetness of oak with a touch of wood smoke. Delicious on the palate, dry with a fine savoury layer, smoky tones and a core of fruit flavours that reflect the bouquet. An abundance of fine tannins adding a smooth texture with acidity of enhancement and contrast. Well made, still developing, but delicious. Best drinking from late 2022 through" Cameron Douglas, Master Sommelier, Nov 2021

"Already delicious, the 2020 vintage (5*) was estate-grown at three sites, matured for 16 months in French oak barriques (20 per cent new), and bottled unfined and unfiltered. Full, bright ruby, it is mouthfilling, very sweet-fruited, savoury and supple, with generous, ripe cherry, plum and spice flavours, showing excellent complexity and harmony. A very ‘complete’ wine, it should break into full stride 2023+. Scheduled for release in early 2022, it offers irresistible value" Michael Cooper

A deep red/purple wine. A rich, succulent and powerful Martinborough Pinot Noir showing dark berry and spice flavours. The bouquet is underpinned by silky tannins and subtle, refined oak from barrel maturation.
Unfined and unfiltered. Suitable for vegans.

Ten percent of the grapes were fermented as whole bunches, the balance were de-stemmed only. Maceration was 11-23 days. Malolactic fermentation occurred in tight-grain French oak barriques, 20% of which were new. The total time in barrel was 16 months.

Eye opening!
Format: Hardcover
I've read tons of books and biographies connected to American history, perhaps because I'm the son of immigrants, but have never read a survey like this one. By describing in luscious and sometimes horrific detail the wars being fought in Mexico and the main Canadian provinces alongside our Civil War, we get patterns, intersections, and insights that simply would not be available reading about any one struggle. I love this book which is teeming with wonderful portraits and dramatic scenes.

A worthy and worthwhile fourth volume in the series
Format: Kindle
Once again, Taylor frames a critical period of the past in terms of the continent of North America and ties the US Civil War to the one occurring concurrently in Mexico and Canada's move toward Dominion. All thoughtfully told and expertly researched.

Good History Book
Format: Kindle
Twenty years that change history and the Americas. Even though the civil war ended slavery at a humongous cost, it it failed to bring social justice a d civil rights to the population of the country. It was not until 1920 that women were granted voting rights. And some problems and divisions persist nowdays.

interesting and fresh perspective on the American civil war
Format: Kindle
Fresh perspective on the well known American Civil War. I appreciate Dr Taylor’s emphasis on the preservation of slavery over the states’ rights argument for why the American Civil War was fought.
