Installation Guide

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable and remove the engine's top cowl.
2. Shift the outboard into neutral. Remove the bolts securing the lower unit (gearcase) to the upper driveshaft housing.
3. Carefully separate and lower the gearcase from the engine.
4. Locate and unbolt the water pump housing cover to expose the impeller.
5. Take note of the impeller vane direction before removing the old impeller, key, plate, and gaskets.
6. Thoroughly clean all mating surfaces, removing any old gasket residue.
7. Install the new wear plate and gasket from the kit onto the gearcase.
8. Insert the new Woodruff key into the driveshaft and slide the new impeller on, rotating it clockwise to bed the vanes correctly.
9. Apply a light coat of marine grease to the inside of the new housing and install it over the impeller.
10. Securely reinstall the housing bolts to the manufacturer's specified torque.
11. Re-attach the gearcase, ensuring the driveshaft, shift shaft, and water tube are correctly aligned.
12. Once fully assembled, start the engine in a water supply and confirm a steady stream of water from the tell-tale port.
