A graduate of Pennsylvania State University, Dr. Hussey received his PhD in geology from the University of Illinois. He retired from Bowdoin College after thirty-nine years of teaching and research. He also assisted the Maine Geological Survey in mapping the state of Maine for many years. Dr. Hussey was also a found Board Member of the Maine Mineral and Gem Museum and the Rock Garden is dedicated to him.
