The Genius Square

The Genius SquareA refreshing twist on the 'fit the blocks in' game. How do you play Genius Square? Grab a friend and each take a game board and set of pieces. One person rolls the seven dice. Each player sets up their board by placing a white 'blocker' piece into the grid square matching the co ordinates shown on the dice. When the boards are setup the same then you're ready to play. You need to fill all the spaces on the board using the nine cube based wooden shapes

How do you play Genius Square?

Grab a friend and each take a game board and set of pieces. 

One person rolls the seven dice. Each player sets up their board by placing a white 'blocker' piece into the grid square matching the co-ordinates shown on the dice.  

When the boards are setup the same then you're ready to play.

You need to fill all the spaces on the board using the nine cube-based wooden shapes that you have.

The winner is the first player to fit all the pieces in.

This version of Genius Square has been re-published by Smart Games.  It contains additional game rules that increase the level of difficulty by not allowing certain pieces to be placed next to each other.

Our family love this game.  Its the sort that you can take to a family gathering to be played by people of all ages.  We find that kids and adults can play together and be competitive.  Its the sort of game where we play "best of three" which quickly becomes "best of 5 or 9".  You just want to keep going.  ~Hannah
