Wharfedale Diamond 12.0i Bookshelf Speakers

Diamond Legacy, Refined for Today

Since 1982, Wharfedale’s Diamond speakers have been the classic starting point for true high-fidelity listening – loved for their “sound per pound” and for punching well above their price. Diamond 12i takes that legacy and updates it for how we listen now.

Built on the award-winning Diamond 12 platform, the 12i series keeps the open, honest sound that made the range so popular, then layers in improved cabinet tuning, tighter driver tolerances, and fresh new finishes. The result is a speaker that still sits firmly in the “affordable hi-fi” category, but feels even more grown-up in both sound and appearance – all without a price increase.

Diamond 12.0i

Diamond 12.0i is the most compact model in the range, designed to bring true Diamond 12i performance to desktops, bookshelves, and smaller spaces. It delivers surprising scale and clarity for its size, with the same Klarity™ driver and refined bass tuning that define the series. Use it as a serious nearfield stereo pair, TV speakers in a tight space, or front/surround channels in a discreet home cinema system.

Klarity™ Drivers: Clear, Engaging Sound

At the heart of Diamond 12i are Wharfedale’s Klarity™ mid/bass drivers. Their cones use a blend of polypropylene and mica to stay light, rigid, and controlled – a combination that helps the driver respond quickly without adding its own “voice” to the music.

Careful shaping of the cone and surround helps keep unwanted resonances in check, so vocals sound natural, instruments have believable texture, and the overall presentation stays clean and composed from quiet late-night listening up through more energetic sessions.

Behind the scenes, a robust motor system and high-spec voice coil give the drivers the control they need to stay tight and tuneful, even when the music gets demanding.

Tuned Bass for Real Rooms

One of the biggest changes in Diamond 12i sits where you can’t see it: in the way the speaker breathes. Wharfedale’s engineering team revisited the bass-reflex port design and internal damping, using a mix of measurement and listening tests to refine how air moves through the cabinet.

The updated port and damping deliver bass that feels more articulate and better integrated with the midrange, especially in real-world spaces where speakers often sit closer to walls or furniture. You get low frequencies that are still satisfyingly full, but with improved control and clarity.

Solid Cabinets, Quiet Background

A great driver needs a stable platform. Diamond 12i cabinets are built from carefully chosen panels of varying thickness to reduce unwanted resonance and “boxiness.” Inside, strategic bracing ties the walls together to cut down on vibration without adding weight for its own sake.

The goal is simple: let you hear the recording, not the cabinet. In practice, that means tighter bass lines, cleaner mids, and a background that feels less “hazy” – the kind of subtle improvement that becomes obvious the longer you listen.

Flexible Connections

Diamond 12i speakers use a single set of robust 5-way binding posts, compatible with bare wire, banana plugs, and spade connectors. The angled layout helps keep cables tidy and makes hookup easy, even when the speakers are close to a wall or sitting in a rack.

Finishes for Modern Spaces

Diamond 12i also gets a visual refresh, trading classic wood-effect options for three finishes that feel more contemporary while still very much Wharfedale:

  • Deep Black – A rich, semi-matte black for a clean, modern look.
  • Stone Grey – A smooth semi-matte grey that works beautifully with minimalist or mixed-material interiors.
  • Classic Walnut with Black Baffle – Warm natural wood grain contrasted with a black front baffle for a more premium, furniture-grade feel.

Each finish is executed to a standard that’s rare at this price point, helping the speakers blend into the room or quietly stand out, depending on how you style them.

Made for Music and Movies

Whether you’re building a focused two-channel system or a full home theater, Diamond 12i is designed to scale with you. Every model in the range shares the same core technologies and voicing, so the sound stays consistent as you move from bookshelf to floorstander to center channel.

From rock and electronic to film soundtracks and gaming, the Diamond 12i series aims to do what Diamonds have always done best: deliver an easy-to-live-with, genuinely hi-fi experience at a price that still feels remarkably sane.

High quality cabin filter
Size: 8.3" x 9.3" x 1.3"
I change out the cabin filters in my cars at every oil change. It help when running the A/C all summer. This is high quality cabin filter that does its job. Seeing what the dealer wants for literally 1 minute worth of work is silly.

It works as expected
Size: 8.3" x 9.3" x 1.3"
Great. It does block air flow by a bit, but it is ok, if you don't need strong air blowing your face at maximum setting all the time.

Great cabin filter for 2019 Acura RDX
Size: 8.3" x 9.3" x 1.3"
When I have my car serviced at the Acura dealership, they routinely recommend that the cabin filter be replaced. As we all know, a dealership is going to charge an arm and a leg for a basic service. Therefore, I have been replacing the cabin air filter myself for the past few years. I like BOSCH products and when I found this filter on Amazon, I knew that was the one to purchase for my 2019 Acura RDX. The filter fits perfectly in its location in the glove box. It literally takes less than five minutes to swap out the old filter for the new. I will continue to use this product while I have the RDX.

Perfect fit, easy installation.
Size: 8.3" x 9.3" x 1.3"
This part fits perfectly. Directional flow is printed on the part however you need to confirm which way air flows in the actual air box. The easiest test is to run the a/c with the filter out, wet a finger, and stick in in the air box to see which side the air blows cold. Then just install this part in the air flow direction as printed on the part. I have not noticed a difference in air quality yet, however I imagine being a HEPA filter, this will do wonders keeping pollen out of the car. Installed this in a 2011 Honda CR-Z. Easy installation. Part looks high quality which is fitting for Bosch.

Great filter, but doesn't fit 2013 Honda Fit without modification
Size: 8.3" x 9.3" x 1.3"
Right off the bat: I don't have any airflow problems with this filter. It works great, the air is noticeably cleaner, and airflow has not been meaningfully reduced. However, it doesn't fit my air filter holder very well. The ' air filter holder' (a plastic tray that slides horizontally into the air flow system) has two plastic fringes on either side of the tray, which each have two small notches in them, a few inches apart from one another. This appears to act as a sort of 'key' by which you can gauge you are putting the filter in with the correct alignment. On an OEM filter, the slots line up with two strips of material that stretch across the length of the filter, which themselves rest within the slots. However, the slots don't line up with the strips on this filter. I had to cut the fringes so that the slots in them are wider, so the strips would fit in them. Without doing this, the filter wouldn't press down into the tray. Having done that, and the filter now rests flush in the tray, there are still marginal gaps around the perimeter of the filter. It's a millimeter or two too small for the tray, so there is some airflow around the filter. This could be rectified by wrapping insulation tape or something around the edge of the filter, or could be ignored if you're not super picky. I haven't added any wrapping to get an airtight seal, and even with that gap I still noticed that the air is way better. So ultimately, it didn't fit exactly, but it fits 90% of the way and, with some finagling, is a superior filter by any other measure.
