Ontworpen voor de salon van haar Villa E1027, benadrukt het Centimetre Tapijt het getal 10 met een mysterieuze code – een knipoog naar de tiende letter van het alfabet: J voor Jean Badovici, met wie ze de Villa Maison au Bord de Mer E1027 ontwierp. Cijfers en iconen – zoals fragmentarische elementen van alledaagse voorwerpen – zijn te vinden in Eileen Gray's tapijtdesigns van de latere jaren 1920. Ze zijn verwijzingen naar haar brede interesses die ze tegenkwam in haar creatieve leven.
