Self-Made Mess is the debut album from Boston's indie rock/emo band Six Going On Seven. Out of print for over 25 years, this highly influential album helped define a genre that bridged the gap between hardcore influenced emo and indie-rock, with its complex bass and guitar harmonies and sincere vocals. Often referred to as a “band’s band”, Six Going on Seven came up alongside many of the household names we still discuss from the era: Jimmy Eat World, Hot Water Music, The Get Up Kids, sharing the stage with them and many others. Originally released on Some Records in 1997 and produced by Brian McTernan at Salad Days Studio, it is being presented on a limited-edition vinyl pressing with all new artwork and remastered by Jack Shirley (Quicksand, Joyce Manor) at The Atomic Garden.

"self-made mess was our first full-length, the culmination of 3 friends woodshedding/gigging around boston in early days. follow me here: i drove to boston in fall of 1994, we played our first show in january of '95, released a 7" the following year & made 'self-made mess' summer of '96 - this one was recorded by our friend brian mcternan after demoing over 9 songs the year prior with another great engineer (who abruptly moved to los angeles to make a record with the rolling stones -- true story) faithful to our live sound, youth (lost on the young) recorded on a shoestring budget in a small new jersey town (that, a story for another day) 10 songs remastered for your listening pleasure, enjoy.” xo/ six going on seven

Love this subtle shimmer rose bronze very moisturizing &thicker
Beautiful color shimmer & sleek shine. Can be subtle or apply more to get a oil look. Smells a little bit like coconut which I don't love if Im wearing perfume. Its a beautiful bronzey pink subtle shimmer. Not glitter & reapply to be a oiled goddess. Works perfectly on my light-med skin tone. Definitely a great summer find. And it is moisturizing & a pretty sheen.

Love the smell and great for my skin
This has become a permanent part of my shower routine. I use it right after I turn the water off while I am still wet, I cover my entire body from the neck down using about 8-10 pumps. I will wrap my body in a towel and finish getting ready (brush teeth, face moisturizer and blow drying hair) and then I will gently rub the towel everywhere incase there is any excess oil after it had the time to absorb into my skin. I dont think it leaves any greasiness at all, its really lightweight. What I love most of all is the smell though. A very nice, light, sweet vanilla smell lingers on your skin until your next shower. You have to put your nose pretty close to your skin to smell it so you wont be bothering anyone who had scent sensitivities. I have been using this for almost a year now and I still keep bringing my forearm to my nose to smell my skin because I love it so much. My skin has improved so much since I started using this.

A GREAT OIL FOR YOUR SKIN
I JUST REVIEWED THE LOTION WHICH I LOVED AND I ALSO LOVE THIS OIL. I THOUGHT THIS WAS A LITTLE BIT PRICEY BECAUSE THE BOTTLE IS A BIT SMALL HOWEVER YOU REALLY ONLY NEED A SMALL AMOUNT AS A LITTLE GOES A LONG WAY. IT ABSORBS INTO YOUR SKIN NICELY WITHOUT FEEL OVERLY GREASY AND IT LEAVES YOUR SKIN SOFT AND SMELLING VERY NICE. THE SMELL IS LOVELY BUT IT ISN'T A REAL STRONG SMELL AND THE VANILLA ISN'T OVERLY SWEET EITHER. IT IS THE PERFECT VANILLA. IT LEAVES YOUR SKIN REFRESHED AND I LOVE IT !! IT GOES GREAT WITH THE LOTION.

Worth it
Okay first night using and I’m in love. Smells amazing. I’m particular about my vanillas but this is light but strong. Doesn’t disappear right away sits on the skin nice and drifts on the air as a nice aroma. Dries down wonderfully too. I did have to use a few pumps to cover each part of my body but so worth it. It’s not greasy at all and gives a nice glow. Application was easy and I do feel moisturized. Looking for the lotion version now to layer over top it.

Very good product. TRY IT!
I LOVE this body oil. I’d been using Elemis Muscleease, which I still prefer, but I was paying $40-$45 dollars a bottle from EBay. Sadly, the makers of Elemis changed the formula & I was having to use more of it to get the same results. Plus, the WONDERFUL scent, that I always found so relaxing but not overpowering, was different. When I saw a review for this cocoa butter body oil, I decided to try it. I’m so glad I did. It works well for my extremely dry skin, has a very nice scent, soaks in quickly, & costs less than half from what I was paying for Elemis. Plus, it contains 6.5 ounces instead of 3.3 of Elemis, though I do use a bit more of it. I’m very glad I found it. In truth, I still would prefer the Elemis, the old formula, but this works quite well & saves me money. As a retired woman living on much less income, the price is a big consideration for me. And, the formula change by Elemis, made it less effective. I would absolutely recommend trying this product if you have issues with dry skin. I recommend using it as soon as you get out of the shower to trap the water on your skin for best results.
