The Impressionist Movement: A Brief Overview
Impressionism emerged in the late 19th century as a revolutionary art movement. Artists sought to capture fleeting moments and the effects of light on landscapes. This style emphasized brush strokes and vibrant colors, moving away from traditional realism. The movement celebrated everyday scenes, focusing on nature and urban life, which resonated with the changing world of that era.Alfred Sisley: Life and Artistic Journey
Alfred Sisley, born in 1839 in Paris, was a key figure in the Impressionist movement. He spent most of his life in France, where he developed a deep connection with the natural world. Sisley's dedication to capturing the beauty of landscapes set him apart from his contemporaries. Despite facing financial struggles, he remained committed to his artistic vision, producing over 900 paintings throughout his career.Influence of Nature on Sisley's Work
Nature profoundly influenced Sisley's artistic expression. He often painted en plein air, immersing himself in the landscapes he depicted. It is a good sunscreen, but if your skin is very oily, think again.
Size: 3 Fl Oz (Pack of 1), Style: SPF 50
I have tried many, MANY sunscreens, and this one is in my top 10, but not at the very top. Why not? Well, what I like about it is that you get a good amount for an excellent price. It's lightweight, but not extremely so, and this size can easily last you 3 months without any problem. However, while it's made for oily skin, it's not that light. After just a few hours of application, it can leave your skin feeling greasy, especially if you sweat easily. It doesn't leave a white cast, but it does leave a slight, shiny finish. Reapplying isn't very comfortable. If you use it just once a day, it's fine, but if you apply it more often, your skin will feel a bit heavy and oily. I think this sunscreen is better for specific occasions rather than for daily use. If I had to choose a sunscreen for daily use, I would pick one with a lighter formula, like Fusion Water from Isdin.

Dissolves with intense exercise then burns eyes and makes a mess, but otherwise works great.

A Charming Historical Cozy Mystery
Format: Audiobook
Lady Hardcastle and her companion Florence Armstrong, have moved to the country. They think they’ll find a quiet life, but almost as soon as they set foot into the area, things start happening. Before they know it, they’re involved in helping to investigate two very different murders. They have some previous experience with such things, but will the constabulary take them seriously? I mean, they are women, after all; what cam they possibly know about such things?.
This was a charming cozy mystery, and I can’t wait to listen to more books in this series. The writing was top notch, and the characters a delight. The plot was beautifully developed and executed. All in all, this was a jolly good read. I really enjoyed learning some of the backstory for Lady Hardcastle and Flo.
I listened to the Audible audiobook of A Quiet Life in the Country. I thought it was remarkably well narrated. Truly, I look forward to learning more about Lady Hardcastle, Flo, and their new friends and associates.
I purchased a copy of this audiobook from Audible or Amazon. I can’t remember which. In any case, all opinions in this review reflect my true and honest reactions to reading this book.
