The Roper Whitney No. 16 punch features a heavy solid forged steel frame and is designed to be mounted to a sturdy work bench. It delivers 7.3 tons of punching power - more than enough to punch a 9/16 inch hole through 1/8 inch mild steel plate! The lower die shoe is adjustable to permit the proper alignment of punches and dies for punching thin sheet metal. This punch is also great for punching spring steel for mounting race car bodies! The advantage bench mounted punches have over portable rotary punches is that they feature a more convenient linear pull handle, and provide additional throat depth. The number 16 punch allows for punching up to 3-1/4 inches from the edge of the material.
