!!LARGE ITALIAN RENAISSANCE REVIVAL CARVED & MIRRORED WALNUT SIDEBOARD, 102.5"H,An imposing and richly carved Italian Renaissance Revival walnut sideboard, dating to the late 19th century (circa 1880–1900), reflecting the historicist revival of 16th-century Italian palace furniture popular among Europe’s grand interiors during the Belle Époque.

The architectural upper section is crowned by a segmental arched pediment, centered by a beveled mirror plate, originally intended to amplify candlelight and oil lamps in formal dining rooms. Flanking the mirror are paneled cabinets, each carved with figural portrait medallions in profile, a direct reference to Renaissance humanist portraiture and classical cameos.

The lower breakfront case is finely fitted with three drawers above four paneled cabinet doors, all adorned with deeply carved foliated scrollwork. Interior cabinetry provides fixed-height shelving, suitable for linens, serving ware, or display objects. The entire structure rises on flattened bun feet, grounding the piece visually and structurally.

Executed in solid walnut with careful attention to symmetry, depth, and hand carving, this sideboard exemplifies the Italian Renaissance Revival movement, which sought to revive the grandeur of Florentine and Venetian interiors for aristocratic townhouses and villas.
