BD Vialon™ Biomaterial for Extended Dwell
The catheter is constructed from BD Vialon™ biomaterial, a proprietary polymer that softens and becomes more flexible after insertion as it warms to body temperature. This reduces mechanical irritation to the vessel wall and supports longer dwell times, aligning with current Infusion Nursing Standards of Practice guidelines for clinically indicated site rotation rather than routine catheter replacement on a fixed schedule.
BD Instaflash™ Needle Technology
The Instaflash™ needle provides rapid, visible blood flashback upon successful vessel entry, giving clinicians immediate confirmation of correct placement.
