INTRODUCTION:
Welcome to the Provide Accurate Information to Visitors in Hospitality Venues course. This course only includes a challenge assessment designed to assess your knowledge and skills required to demonstrate competence in accessing and maintaining current local area information, identifying visitor information needs accurately, and then providing relevant, culturally appropriate and service-focused information that assists visitors while supporting organisational standards and service quality.
Providing accurate information to visitors in hospitality venues involves gathering and maintaining reliable knowledge about the local area and using that knowledge to respond effectively to a wide range of visitor enquiries. This work includes understanding local accommodation, dining, entertainment, attractions, shopping, transport, road conditions, weather and organisation-specific services, and then selecting the right information to suit each visitor’s needs. This work is important because visitors often rely on frontline hospitality staff for practical and timely advice, and the quality, accuracy and relevance of that information can directly affect visitor satisfaction, confidence and overall experience.
The course assessment focuses on your ability to identify and access sources of current visitor information, update and maintain your local area knowledge, and share relevant information with colleagues to support service efficiency and consistency. You will be required to demonstrate how you recognise specific visitor needs, including those of visitors with special needs, and how you provide an appropriate scope and depth of information that is clear, useful and suited to the visitor’s enquiry and circumstances.
By successfully completing this course assessment, you will have demonstrated that you can access and maintain current and accurate visitor information, identify and respond to a wide range of visitor needs, provide suitable local area and venue-related information with appropriate scope and depth, promote internal services where relevant, communicate effectively and appropriately with visitors from different backgrounds, and use visitor feedback to support ongoing service improvement in hospitality venues.
