Installation Guide

  1. Disconnect the fuel line from the old carburetor and remove any throttle or choke linkages. Ensure the engine is completely cool before starting.
  2. Unbolt the old carburetor from the intake manifold using the appropriate socket or wrench. Keep all mounting hardware for reuse if in good condition.
  3. Clean the intake manifold gasket surface thoroughly to ensure a proper seal. Remove any old gasket material or debris.
  4. Install a new gasket onto the intake manifold (if included or separately sourced). Align the new carburetor with the mounting studs.
  5. Secure the new carburetor with mounting bolts, tightening evenly in a cross pattern to manufacturer torque specifications.
  6. Reconnect all throttle and choke linkages, ensuring smooth operation and correct cable routing.
  7. Attach the fuel line securely to the carburetor inlet fitting. Check for proper connection and no kinks in the line.
  8. Prime the fuel system by squeezing the primer bulb until firm. Check for any fuel leaks around connections.
  9. Start the engine and allow it to warm up to operating temperature. Monitor for smooth idle and throttle response.
  10. Adjust idle speed and mixture screws as needed per manufacturer specifications. Fine-tune for optimal performance.
  11. Perform a test run on the water, checking for proper acceleration and top-end performance.
  12. Re-check all connections and fasteners after the initial run to ensure everything remains secure.

Troubleshooting & FAQ

Q: How do I confirm this carburetor fits my Yamaha or Parsun engine?
A: Verify your engine model is E40XMH (Yamaha, 1992-2006) or Parsun 40HP X model, and cross-reference your existing carburetor part number with 66T-14301-60, 66T-14301-00, or 66T-14301-70. Use the compatibility table above and our serial number guide links to confirm your engine details.

Q: What are the signs that my carburetor needs replacement?
A: Common symptoms include difficulty starting, rough or unstable idle, poor acceleration, excessive fuel consumption, black smoke from exhaust, and fuel leaking from the carburetor body. If cleaning and rebuilding don't resolve these issues, replacement is recommended.

Q: How often should I replace my outboard carburetor?
A: Carburetors don't have a fixed replacement interval. Replace when you experience performance issues that can't be resolved by cleaning or rebuilding, or if the carburetor body is damaged or corroded. Regular maintenance and fuel system care can extend carburetor life significantly.

Q: What's the difference between this aftermarket carburetor and the OEM Yamaha version?
A: This aftermarket carburetor is manufactured to OEM specifications using comparable materials and design. The primary difference is the manufacturer—this is not a Yamaha OEM part but a cost-effective replacement that delivers reliable performance at a lower price point.

Q: Do I need to adjust the carburetor after installation?
A: Yes, minor adjustments to idle speed and fuel mixture screws may be necessary after installation to achieve optimal performance for your specific engine and operating conditions. Refer to your engine's service manual for proper adjustment procedures.

Q: Is this an OEM or aftermarket part?
A: This listing is an aftermarket replacement part (not an OEM component). We build to OEM specifications using comparable-grade materials. Production is done in an ISO9002-certified facility, and each batch is inspected for consistent performance.

Q: How fast do you ship and how much does it cost?
A: We offer fast global shipping—typically 5–15 days worldwide—and standard shipping is free. Expedited options are available at checkout depending on your location.

Q: What is your warranty and return policy?
A: This product includes a 1-year warranty against manufacturing defects under normal use. If something goes wrong, contact our support team with your order details. Returns are accepted within our standard return window (unused & in original condition); please see our policy page or reach out for instructions.

Great replacement kit
Called around for quotes to get them replaced and everyone was quoting over $2k just for bellows. Figured I’d give it a try. The rubber is good quality and feels soft. Time will tell but this is an easy job if you’re mechanically inclined. Make sure you replace the plastic water pickup fitting while you’re at it. Found mine to be cracked on disassembly and had to wait for a new one. Should be a easy 3-4 hour job if your not doing the bearing and only doing bellows

Good value, very useful for go kart wiring
Size: 100ft, Style: 6C-18AWG
It's a good spool to have around to wire lights and things on the go karts. Also came in handy when I had to patch a bit of melted wire harness on the tail of the old Dodge.
