An adjustable padded strap holds the flash flat to a non-skid rubberized platform attached to a 3/4" long, 5/8" diameter stud with reversible 1/4"-20 / 3/8"-16 thread. The stud fits perfectly inside an umbrella-type stand mount and other accessories such as super clamps with a 5/8" receivers. The male threads offer additional mounting options. Among the benefits of this type of mounting are better center of gravity for the flash, zero likelihood of snapping the flash shoe and easier centering of the flash inside a softbox or umbrella.
