Pale straw coloured in colour, the W5 Grüner Veltliner is fine grained with appealing chalky phenolics and a long, lingering finish. It has delicate aromas of fennel flower, dried citrus peel and a hint of white pepper. Aromas follow through to the palate with flavours of ripe apple, mandarin and lime with hints of vanilla bean. Drinking beautifully now, the structure and complexity will continue to evolve in the bottle and will be at its best from now until at least three years from the date of vintage.

Harvested from the Omaka Valley, the grapes were gently harvested and pressed. Free run juice from a press cut was fermented in stainless steel to retain freshness and varietal characters. Other pressing components were fermented in seasoned oak to add complexity and roundness to the palate. After fermentation all components were blended and the wine was carefully finished and prepared for bottling.
