It is designed for use with unbalanced equipment, such as high-quality pre-amp, amp inputs and tape decks. It provides an improvement in signal-to-noise of 10 to 20 dB over equivalent twisted pair cables. It is more effective in cancelling noise that can get past even the best of shields, which is critical in an environment of high RF and EM interference. Originally designed for BANTAM patch-cords, this cable can be ideally used where a small diameter Quad microphone cable is required.
