Livewire 9000: Kershaw’s Bold Step Into OTF Territory

Kershaw isn’t new to making bold moves—but the Livewire is something special. Their first USA-made out-the-front automatic, the Livewire 9000 feels like the result of years of quiet experimentation, suddenly brought to life with a snap that’s hard to forget. It’s slim, lightweight, and just downright fun to carry—and in this blue variant, it’s got a little extra personality.

Note from Lone Star Knife & Supply

I’m Chris, and this knife caught me off guard in the best way. The action is fast and clean, with a satisfying thwack that feels more premium than the price suggests. If you’ve ever wondered whether a production OTF could feel this dialed-in, the Livewire is your answer.

Precision in Every Flick

The Livewire fires out with purpose and retracts just as confidently, thanks to a snappy double-action mechanism powered by an internal dual-coil spring. The black stonewashed CPM MagnaCut blade offers an excellent balance of corrosion resistance, toughness, and edge retention—perfect for real-world EDC use.

The blue anodized aluminum handle is clean and modern, with a subtle milling pattern for grip and visual interest. It’s lightweight enough to disappear in your pocket but built tough enough to hold its own. Add in the reversible deep-carry clip and it’s ready for lefties and righties alike.

Made in the USA, Built for EDC

Kershaw could have played it safe with their first OTF. Instead, they gave us a knife that’s sleek, reliable, and thoroughly American. It’s made in their Oregon facility, and you can feel the care in every press of the switch.

The OTF That Gets It Right

If you’re looking for a clean, modern out-the-front that nails the basics and doesn’t try to be something it’s not, the Livewire 9000 is it. Lightweight, responsive, and just fun to use—this is the kind of knife that makes you reach for it even when you don’t need to cut anything. It just feels that good.

Cute toy that definitely entertains the pups.
These are adorable toys. They make a bit more noise than I expected as they have the crackly ‘stuff’ in the legs. My mastiff made it a whole day without destroying it. This is the first toy that’s survived him for more than 10 minutes, so that’s an endorsement even if it sounds bad. They are a great price for the size. If I were to say I have a wish for them, it’s that the material that makes up their belly was more durable.

Durability Not So Good
The size is great and having squeakers in all tentacles is super for the puppy but had to sew a seam withing one week of having it. Hoping the rest stays together.

Long lasting and fun
This toy has lasted longer than other octopus toys I've bought in the past. Even if a leg or two is ripped off, it still holds on.

Awesome product, but NOT sturdy
My dog LOVED this product, but unfortunately the head came off in less than a week.

Glad this toy is back
Large soft dog toy. I have been trying to buy this item for years. It apparently was discontinued, but it finally has been replaced with an even better, more durable product. I have two large chocolate labs and they have yet to gut it. It is reasonable durable, but I suppose a determined dog could eventually rip into it. I will definitely again. Large grunting noise maker in the body, and small squeakers in the arms.
