Lime originated in Southeast Asia, but the beautifully refreshing citrus fruit didn't gain momentum until the 10th century when it appeared in Egypt and North America due to migration and a fast-growing trade. It wasn't until Christopher Columbus took these newly found citrus fruits on his second voyage in 1943 that they started being cultivated in the warm Caribbean climate.

Initially, British naval soldiers used it due to its high vitamin C content as a prevention for scurvy. This is where the term 'Limey' came from. Today, Lime Essential Oil is recognised for its healing benefits due to its anti-inflammatory, astringent, analgesic, stimulant, antiseptic, soothing, energising, and balancing properties. 

The lime tree is also known throughout mythologies as a sacred tree that purifies, cleanses and renews the soul, body and mind. Lime is known for boosting positivity, uplifting the spirit and bringing abundance and optimism into the environment. 

Lime Essential Oil is known for its energising, uplifting and fresh aroma. It has a sweet-tart fresh scent that stimulates and refreshes the senses and promotes feelings of emotional balance and well-being.

It is great for diffusing and is popular in skin care, body cleansing, cleaning, room mist, cosmetics and perfumes. It is a fantastic aromatic when used in the shower, sauna or vaporiser.

Uses.

Bespoke: Use it in all of our daytime products. Liquid sunshine added to soaps, hair products and skin care lotions will help put that skip back into your step. Lime Essential Oil is useful during the cold and flu season, comes with benefits for the skin and hair, and can lift your mood and purify the air. When combined with our bubble bath or massage oil it will have you feeling bright and happy in no time.  

Vaporiser: Start with 6 to 8 drops.

Diffuser: Start with 6 to 8 drops.

Burner: Start with 6 to 8 drops.

Bath: Add 8 to 12 drops to your bath.

Shower: 3 or 4 drops in the corner of the shower.

Sauna: Add 6 to 8 drops to your ladle of water and pour over hot rocks.

Hands & feet: Add 2 to 4 drops to a bowl of warm water and soak.

On the go: Open the cap and inhale straight from the bottle or add a drop or two to your face mask.
