Baroness de Stoeckl (1874-1968), née Agnes Barron, in 1892 married Baron Alexander de Stoeckl, a Russian diplomat and gentleman-in-waiting to Grand Duchess George of Russia and then to Grand Duke Michael. Baron de Stoeckl’s father is credited with the 1867 sale of Alaska to the United States for £7,200,000.

The Baroness is seen here in the Russian-style court gown she wore to the coronation of King Edward VII. She also wears an archaic kokoshnik-style diamond hair ornament, and in addition to a copious number of Russian-style bracelets and rings, her corsage is heavily ornamented with strings of pearls, a large diamond swallow brooch and an assortment of diamond brooches.

When she was 78 she was persuaded to write her memoirs, which she claims she did in order to escape the “ennui of embroidery”. In the mock obituary she added to the front of her autobiography, Baroness de Stoeckl wrote: ‘She spent the greater part of her life amidst the courts of Europe, and she was called ‘Aunty Ag’ by half the royal personages.’ In fact, she was known as a witty conversationalist.

Born to Irish parents, her father’s vast wealth was derived from Mexico and he lived in Paris and entertained the fashionable world “on a princely scale.” According to her autobiography Baroness de Stoeckl found that it was necessary to do “much hard work resting” to look fresh, a sentiment picked up later by Queen Marie of Rumania who devoted a month each year “to her beauty”.

On her first visit to Russia Tsar Nicholas II gave her land in the Crimea on which he intended to build her a country home.

Love It!
Color: Orange & Blue Fetch Ball, Size: 4.75 inches (1 Pack)
Perfect for your dog who loves to play ball indoors. It doesn’t bounce & it’s very soft. It lasted a long time for a German Shepherd who loveeess to ball all day.

Just what we needed
Color: Orange & Blue Squirrel, Size: 4.7 inches (1 Pack)
This toy has been great for my dog who eats all her toys! We were having such an issue with all of her toys being so hard that we didn’t want to throw them around our house. This was the perfect solution. She hadn’t eaten through it and it’s nice and soft for fetch without destroying your house!

My lab loves t
Color: Orange & Blue Fumbler, Size: 3 x 8.5 x 9 inches (1 Pack)
This toy is my labs favorite toy. She’s obsessed and we were happy to find a toy she loves that can stay inside with us. The problem is how easily she tears it apart. We have to buy her a new one every month because when she bites into it it breaks down the foam inside, and from there she shreds the roping it’s covered in. We try to stop her, but with how often we play with it it’s inevitable. We have resigned ourselves to buying a new one once a month.

Not Chuck-It Durable
Color: Orange & Blue Squirrel, Size: 4.7 inches (1 Pack), Color: Orange & Blue Squirrel, Size: 4.7 inches (1 Pack)
Sadly only lasted an hour. My dog likes to pull apart toys over the course of a few months, with the exception of Chuck-It toys. They usually never get destroyed by him. I think its a good product but if you are looking for the durability like other toys from Chuck It - just wanted to share this is not the toy for you! Made him happy so not regretful of buying it, just wish it lasted longer. Here is him posing with it after he took bites of it like it was an apple.
