The sign should be used wherever snowfall is easily packed and layered, or where ice is common due to the shape and positioning of the road. This diagram should be used with plates; ‘Ice’, where the x-height should be increased by one size to account for the small word; ‘Ice for’ and a distance; ‘Snowdrifts’; or ‘Snowdrifts for’ and a distance.
