Why a real engraved tag matters
Embroidered collars fade. Sharpie wears off in a fortnight. A laser-engraved metal tag is the only ID that survives the rain, the river and that one bath your dog still talks about. The engraving is cut into the metal — not printed on top — so it lasts as long as the tag does.
What we engrave
Front of the tag: "Hi I'm [Your Dog's Name]" in script, with an illustration of your dog's breed beside it. Pick the breed from the chart below.
Back of the tag: Your phone number on one line, your address on the next. Keep the address short — street name + postcode is the format that fits comfortably (e.g. "14 High Street, SW1A 1AA"). Long addresses with flat numbers and full city names will overflow the engraving area, so trim it down.
Typed exactly as you enter it on the form above — please double-check spelling and number before placing your order. We can't refund engraved tags for typos (more on that further down).

Find your dog's breed in the gallery (image 2) — use the number when you fill in the engraving form above. If your dog is a mix, pick the breed they look most like — most owners go with the dominant breed, or just the one that makes them smile. The illustration is laser-engraved at the same time as the name, so it'll never wear off.

Built to last
Lightweight lead-free zinc alloy with an electroplated finish — won't rust, won't snag fur, and stays comfortable on the collar all day. The split ring matches the tag finish (rose gold ring with rose gold tag, gold with gold, and so on) and clips straight to your existing collar's D-ring; no extra hardware needed.
The little paw-print cutout on the right-hand side isn't there for any practical reason — we just thought it looked nicer than a plain bone.
For UK customers — collar ID and microchipping are both legally required
Under the Control of Dogs Order 1992, every dog in a public place in the UK must wear a collar with the owner's name and address engraved on it or on a plate attached to it. This is separate from microchipping (also legally required under the 2015 Regulations) — a chip identifies your dog at a vet, but a collar tag identifies them to the person who finds them. You need both. Customers outside the UK: similar collar-ID rules apply in many countries (US state by state, AU, NZ, parts of EU) — worth checking your local requirements.
Personalised — please read before ordering
Because each tag is engraved to your spec, we can't accept returns or refunds on personalised orders unless the tag arrives faulty or with an engraving error on our side. Please double-check your spelling, your number and your size choice on the form before placing your order. (This is in line with UK Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, Reg 28 — personalised goods are exempt from the standard 14-day return right.)
Multi-pet households
If you've got more than one dog or cat, the 2-pack saves you a few quid and means the second tag arrives in the same envelope — useful if you've just brought a new puppy home or you're updating both pets' tags after a house move.

What if my dog is a mix and not in the breed chart?
Pick whichever of the 99 illustrations looks closest — most owners go with the dominant breed, or just the one that makes them smile. If you're really stuck, drop us a message before ordering and we'll help you choose.
How long does the engraving last?
Laser engraving is cut into the metal, not printed on. With normal wear it stays legible for years. If your dog's a digger and the tag spends its life in mud, expect the finish to dull faster — but the engraving itself stays put.
Do I have to put my phone number?
No. UK law requires name and address — phone number is best practice but optional. Skip the phone field if you'd rather and we'll just engrave the address.
Will it fit on my pet's existing collar?
Yes — the split ring included clips to any standard collar D-ring (the metal loop most collars have on the front). No tools needed.
How long is the address allowed to be?
Keep it short — street name + postcode is the format that fits. "14 High Street, SW1A 1AA" works; "Flat 4, 27 Westbourne Grove, London W11 2RN" won't fit. If your address is long, drop the flat number and town and just use street + postcode.
