"It is great to be able to taste this wine again - now that it has had a few more months in bottle. The core of black and red fruit remains the same - fresh, dark, varietal and at the core of the bouquet. Flavours on the palate include - doris plums and black cherry, black currant and black berries. The layer of oak brings foundation and contrast with a mild toasty wood layer, baking spices of clove and vanilla then finer wood tannins for complexity. Lengthy finish, balanced and well made. Best drinking upon purchase and through 2024+" Cameron Douglas, Master of Wine, Jun 2021

Deep purple coloured hues lead to a perfumed nose of dark fruits, cocoa, sweet vanilla and clove spices. The full bodied palate is soft and generous with ripe fruit, silky tannins and a smooth finish. Drink now or hold for up to 5-8 years when the wine will develop further complexity.

The winemaker's key focus is to be environmentally responsible and to operate using sustainable practices in order to protect the land for future generations. Villa Maria has farmed organically since 2002 gaining Biogro certification in 2009. The Organic vineyards are vibrant gardens alive with wildflowers and full of life. The Soler Vineyard is planted on free draining gravel soils well suited to applying organic farming principles.

The Hawke's Bay 2019 vintage followed an incredible summer, reds in particular enjoyed superb conditions for ripening. Upon crushing the grapes were inoculated with Bio-grow approved yeast. Post fermentation the wine was pressed to oak barriques, 25% new, for 18 months maturation.

Food Pairing: Merlot-Cabernet Sauvignon blends are particularly good when paired with robust, full flavoured dishes, red meat and cheeses.

Amazing start
Format: Paperback
Dark and delicious this is an amazing start to this duet featuring Vogue and her guys. Vogue is a KA FMC who I am definitely rooting for. Her guys are all protective and lovable. With the ease that Vogue fell into her role and with her guys I am so excited to see how it evolves.

Decent read
Format: Kindle
Normally I just give stars and very few times do I review in words. I like the book. I like the FMC. I just think there should have been a bit more build up? Storytelling? Its just a wee bit disjointed on so many levels. This girl is smart. But cant throw a punch? Especially from the bad area she lived in? She's too calm about everything in my opinion and definitely something is just off. This needed more writing out. More explanation. More something that wasn't there in my opinion.. again. Besides that I felt like it had a good story line if not a bit disjointed.

A street Smart, Book smart driven FMC? Sign me up
Format: Paperback
This was a non stop read for me. Vogue is a FMC that you fall in love with as soon as the story starts. She has worked her behind off to get into Crestmont University and she is not about to roll over and let anyone take what she has coming to her from her! She is not only book smart but street smart as well which helps her out a lot! Especially with Callum, Quentin, Thayer and Harrison. She is totally willing to take charge and take care of her business. I am so glad that the 2nd book is being released at the same time because I know I could not wait to read it. I swear This book will keep you guessing and not wanting to put it down at all! Loved this duet! Eve Newton really honestly did it yet again!

big let down
Format: Kindle
The first book was so rushed, I really hoped #2 would have more story. Some of the content was ridiculous - not believable in any sense. Even the spicy sex scenes fell flat. I felt I needed to finish it but I didn’t want to. I usually and stuck in the book and can’t wait for the next chapter. It was just a let down.
