The S-DX (Super DX) is a flagship mobile transceiver designed for enhanced communication experiences. It features a Super DX function that boosts the RF amplifier gain to improve reception sensitivity when signals from the other station are weak. The ASP (Audio Digital Signal Processor) function processes incoming signals digitally in the AF band, removing noise for clearer audio quality. The FTM-510D ASP series includes an ASP auto function for even better sound clarity.

The transceiver is equipped with a high-volume front speaker and a high-quality AESS dual speaker system, providing a new operational feel with touch & go and search & go functions. The 6W front speaker, integrated into the control head, delivers clear sound from the front, ensuring comfortable operation even when the main unit is installed separately, such as under a seat, without needing an external speaker.

The AESS (Acoustic Enhanced Speaker System) dual speaker system uses phase correction to combine the main body speaker and front speaker, achieving a wide, clear, high-quality sound by adjusting phase, output balance, and frequency characteristics.

The transceiver boasts a high-resolution 2.4-inch full-color LCD touch panel display, offering excellent visibility for frequency, communication mode, reception status, compass, and various settings. The control head can be angled 20 degrees upward for better visibility when installed under a vehicle dashboard. An optional swing head kit allows for further angle adjustments.

It supports dual reception of two independent circuits, allowing simultaneous reception of two waves on the same or different bands (V+V / U+U / V+U / U+V). It also supports simultaneous C4FM/C4FM digital dual reception and playback on both main and sub-bands, receiving digital data like call signs and location data on both bands.

The latest E2O-IV (Easy to Operate-IV) operating system offers a new operational feel with features like touch & go and search & go, enabling smooth frequency transitions and dual reception from the scope screen. The one-touch scope function allows instant switching between scope and dual reception operations.

Additional features include a quick back function for returning to the previous frequency, PMG (Primary Memory Group) for efficient monitoring, MAG (Memory Auto Grouping) for automatic memory channel grouping, and CFL (Customized Function List) for easy access to frequently used functions. The VFO band skip function allows skipping unused bands for smoother operation, and the memory channel VFO transfer function enables seamless VFO operation without changing communication settings.
