Coming to you are the gemmy green fluorite crystal clusters from the world-renowned mining location of Durham, England. Fluorite from this region is regarded as some of the finest in the world.
Heavy Metal Pocket was a 2019 discover from Diana Maria Mine, aptly named for its association with Galena. Most specimens from Heavy Metal Pocket have their brecciated matrix attached due to its Galena content.
Fluorite from this find is recognised by the intensely dark blue daylight fluorescence of the large interpenetrant twinned crystals which sit on a bed of smaller single intergrown Fluorites. Larger cubes exhibit frosted cores, a symptom from its rapid growth, and a phenomenon seldom heard of in other mines.
As with Diana Maria productions, Heavy Metal Pocket Fluorites are colour changing; a phenomenon known as daylight fluorescence. Twinned Fluorite cubes fluorescence stronger than single Fluorite cubes.
