This English Fluorite is from the Cousin Jack Pocket of the well-known Rogerley Mine in Durham, England, wherein the Weardale valley is one of the most recognizable locality due to its vibrancy. Many of the pieces from the Cousin Jack Pocket are brilliant and rich shades of green- in fact, when this verdant Fluorite was first found in 1818, miners initially thought they had found Emerald. 

Many of the specimens from the Cousin Jack Pocket feature Galena accompanying the Fluorite. Galena’s metallic luster and distinct silver color make it a visually interesting pairing with the Fluorite.
