Digital cameras with enhanced red response allow you to capture subtle hues of red. However, opening up this channel leaves your images vulnerable to far red and near infrared contamination. These filters absorb this unwanted light while preserving HD camera's increased red response while maintaining crisp blacks, allowing it to render colors in a more accurate manner.
These filters therefore assist the camera in capturing the wider color gamut it was designed for�minimal light loss�1/2 and 2/3 stop.
