N-acetyl cysteine (NAC) is a stable form of the non-essential amino acid cysteine. It is a sulfur-containing amino acid that acts as a stabilizer for the formation of protein structures and is also necessary for the formation of glutathione.* Molybdenum and selenium are essential trace minerals that facilitate the production of several important enzymes.* 

Manufacturing Testing and Assurance

Not manufactured with wheat, gluten, soy, milk, egg, fish, shellfish or tree nut ingredients. Produced in a GMP facility that processes other ingredients that contain these allergens. Made and quality tested in the USA in NOW’s Natural Products Association (NPA) A-rated, GMP-certified manufacturing facility. NOW conducts approximately 19,000 quality control tests per month in their in-house labs to ensure their products are safe and effective. In taking more positive steps on their journey to reduce the company's environmental impact, NOW is starting the transition of their supplement bottles to 100% post-consumer recycled (PCR) resin in 2023. Replacing the NOW standard PET bottles with PCR resin allows the company to re-use recycled packaging materials and lighten NOW's footprint on the earth.

Suggested Usage

Take 1 capsule twice daily. Black speckling may occur over time after the package is opened, but the product is safe to consume. NAC is a sulfur-containing amino acid, so an unpleasant smell is possible. Leave freshness packets in the bottle after opening to delay oxidation and control odor (if any). Natural color variation may occur in this product when exposed to air. Black spots may appear in NAC because of a normal oxidative reaction, but product is safe to consume. Spots are not mold or any other micro-contamination. Micro-testing has been performed to assess product safety. Store in a cool, dry place after opening.
