The Funayuki is a slim Deba-style knife suitable for fish preparation and fishing trips. This knife is a slimmer, thinner, and lighter version of a Deba, making it easy to handle and recommended as a companion for fishing. The name Funayuki comes from knives taken along on boats.

The black areas of the blade have been treated with a Black Oxide Finish. This finish forms a stable oxide layer on the iron surface, helping suppress red rust while giving the blade a calm black appearance. The rugged black blade and polished silver edge create a strong contrast and a tool-like presence. As it is used, the black oxide surface will gradually develop its own character, which is part of the appeal of carbon steel knives. Since this finish is not applied to a brand-new knife, the black color may appear uneven, but we hope you will enjoy it as part of the character.
