Installation Guide

  1. Safety First: Disconnect the battery and remove the spark plug wires to prevent accidental starting.
  2. Drain Gear Oil: Place a drain pan under the lower unit and remove the upper and lower gear oil drain screws to drain the lubricant.
  3. Remove Lower Unit: Unbolt the lower unit (gearcase) from the engine's midsection. You may also need to disconnect the shift linkage.
  4. Access Water Pump: With the lower unit removed, locate and unbolt the water pump housing, typically secured with four screws.
  5. Inspect and Clean: Remove the old impeller, gaskets, wear plate, and housing. Clean all mating surfaces thoroughly, removing any old gasket material or corrosion.
  6. Install New Components: Install the new wear plate and gasket. Slide the new impeller key onto the drive shaft.
  7. Install Impeller: Lubricate the inside of the new housing and install the new impeller, turning the driveshaft clockwise to bend the vanes in the correct direction.
  8. Reassemble Pump: Place the new housing over the impeller and secure it with the provided screws and washers, tightening them to the manufacturer's specified torque.
  9. Reinstall Lower Unit: Reconnect the shift linkage (if applicable) and carefully guide the lower unit back into place, ensuring the driveshaft, water tube, and shift shaft align correctly. Bolt it securely.
  10. Refill Gear Oil: Use a pump to fill the gearcase with fresh marine gear lubricant through the bottom hole until it emerges from the top hole. Reinstall both drain screws securely.
  11. Final Checks: Reconnect the battery and spark plug wires. Start the engine in a test tank or with a water flusher to confirm water is pumping correctly from the tell-tale outlet.

Troubleshooting & FAQ

Q: How do I know if this water pump kit will fit my specific engine model?

A: The best way to ensure fitment is to match your engine's model and year to the "Compatible Engine Models" table. Additionally, cross-reference your existing part number with those listed in the "Part Number Cross-Reference" section. This kit is specifically for Johnson/Evinrude outboards with a split case lower unit design and thru-prop exhaust.

Q: What are the common signs of a failing water pump impeller?

A: A weak or intermittent stream from the "tell-tale" water outlet is the most common indicator. Other signs include the engine overheating alarm sounding, steam from the exhaust, or a noticeable drop in engine performance as the ECU reduces power to prevent damage.

Q: How often should I replace my outboard's water pump impeller?

A: As a general rule, it is recommended to inspect the impeller annually and replace it every 1-2 years or every 100-200 hours of use, whichever comes first. Usage in saltwater or sandy/murky water may require more frequent replacement.

Q: OEM vs. Aftermarket?

A: This listing is an aftermarket replacement part (not an OEM component). We build to OEM specifications using comparable-grade materials. Production is done in an ISO9002-certified facility, and each batch is inspected for consistent performance.

Q: How fast do you ship and how much does it cost?

A: We offer fast global shipping—typically 5–15 days worldwide—and standard shipping is free. Expedited options are available at checkout depending on your location.

Q: What is your warranty and return policy?

A: This product includes a 1-year warranty against manufacturing defects under normal use. If something goes wrong, contact our support team with your order details. Returns are accepted within our standard return window (unused & in original condition); please see our policy page or reach out for instructions.

delightful read
Format: Kindle
What a delightful read. The characters are awesome, the plot was so good, I loved it. I was intrigued and it kept me wanting more. Told in multiple pov, the book sucks you in and doesn’t let go. I cannot wait to read the next book.

not bad
Format: Kindle
I loved the plot of this book. The characters just didn’t have a lot of depth. The connections and “love” just weren’t communicated very well in the writing. The author didn’t write the sweet psycho trope very well at all either. Lachlan was just a mess of a character.

A Beta Worth Rooting For
Format: Kindle
In Spare, Violet Fox flips the omegaverse on its head, giving us a Beta heroine determined to make her mark. Joining the Beta Trials to support her sick father, she's thrown into a pack that doesn't want her, especially the possessive Alphas. But here's the twist: their sweet Omega turns out to be her scent match. Cue the angst, forbidden tension, and a slow-burn romance that will make your heart ache in the best way. Violet Fox delivers an emotional, refreshing take on the genre, proving Betas aren't "spares." They're stars.

Beta, Alpha, Omega oh my!
Format: Kindle
Omegas are precious and given to Alphas & their packs... but the Betas want in too. To this end, the Beta government is rolling out its trial of assigning a Beta to each Alpha-Omega pack. But forcing a Beta into a pack where they are not wanted will not end well... Of course, no one expected the Omega to fall for the assigned Beta. Great read and cliffhanger

A familiar story, just with…..less.
Format: Kindle
So, as other reviewers make clear, this is very similar to Pack Darling and The Beta. It’s much closer aligned with The Beta, in plot and maybe more like Pack Darling with characters. That being said, I don’t hate this…..but it wasn’t great either. It’s both books mentioned but just….less. Less angst, less emotion, less feeling. The plot feels very half fleshed out, and the “bad guy” feels underwhelming. I didn’t really feel any real emotions from and of the male leads, except maybe Oliver. The others fell sorta flat for me. And Mika makes herself out to be this big bad ass straight outta training and then we never see it from here again with the one fitting room incident as the exception. SPOILER: The whole, “Oh, I’m actually probably an Omega, but I don’t wanna be but I do actually wanna be but no one can ever know my secret that I do nothing to hide “ thing fell so flat. She never commutes to believing she was secretly an omega, but also mentions her “secret” a lot. It just felt so manufactured. I’m intrigued enough to read part 2 and see how the author closes everything out, but this is not one I’ll recommend or ever come back to.
