The long shanks cause the signals to reach the horse's mouth slightly delayed compared to short shanks, while a stronger pressure builds up in the poll area. A sensitive rider's hand is essential here.

The horse's mouth tends to be somewhat narrower where the weymouth is fitted. Therefore it is recommend that you choose a weymouth 1⁄2 to 1 cm smaller than the bradoon.
