The BeeBox beehive system is the result of 40 years of beekeeping and development experience on the biggest beekeeping operation in Scandinavia. They have been tested as well in harsh environments facing ± 50°C in Northern Europe, arctic Russia, Australia and New Zealand.

The beehives are made of food grade, extra hardened, expanded polystyrene (EPS) with a density of over 100 kg/m³.

In proper use, the hives will easily last several decades. In order to save space during transport, the boxes are supplied unassembled.

Solid hive bottom has been designed for commercial bee keeping operations. The new model has been streamlined to fit neatly onto beehive pallets with a much lower profile and are stackable by design.

It has no feet which means it is not designed to be placed directly onto the ground. It should always be placed on a hive pallet or a hive stand which also provides ample ventilation through the open mesh floor.

It is a low 41mm high making it less than half the height of the original hive bottom. This is important for commercial beekeeping operations aiming to maximise the number of hives they can transport on their trucks.
