When we arrived at Bear Lake, famously known as The Caribbean of the Rockies, the sight of vacationers basking on its shores, particularly on the northern beaches stretching into Idaho, was a welcome surprise.

I mention all this because, typically, I avoid photographing overcast days, yet it seems that serendipity had a different vision in mind. In this image, captured with a long exposure, the gentle waves tell a story. On a normal day, when the beaches aren't buzzing with activity, these ripples would only appear when the wind stirs the waters. Today, however, they are a result of countless motorboats, their energy imprinted on the lake's surface.
