According to Mexican tradition, one day in the year belongs exclusively to the dead, a day on which they are granted celestial permission to visit friends and relatives on earth. In modern Mexico, festivities for the dead are idiosyncratic. Blending pre-Christian and Christian elements, celebrations for All Saints' and All Souls? are unique in the Catholic world. Mexicans are as tormented by the idea of mortality as other nations, yet they honour and receive the departed with good cheer, visual splendour and imagination. Families welcome the returning souls with flowers, incense, candles and special foods. This is not a sombre occasion, but a time of feasting and reunion.
This anthology considers how the Day of the Dead has been celebrated in visual art and culture, from the traditional and iconic illustrations of skulls and singing skeletons by seminal lithographer Jose Guadalupe Posada to the paper cuts of Aaron Velasco Pacheco and representations of the festival by Diego Rivera and Frida Kahlo and in the folk art of the Linares family.
Curated by Julian Rothenstein and written by Chloe Sayer, an independent scholar and curator, specializing in Mexican art and culture, this is a must-have book for anyone interested in this extraordinary cultural event and its artistic representation.

Good but smears easily( smearing is solvable!)

It’s pretty good but it smears super easily, but if you put face powder on the face paint, it would smear as badly. Me and my cousin wore this face paint to the Katy Perry concert for our “hot” and “cold” costume.

We’ve tried every “gentle★★★★★ Finally, something that actually works for my nephews eczema.
We’ve tried every “gentle,” “hypoallergenic,” “pediatrician-recommended” cream and lotion out there, and nothing kept our little one’s cheeks, arms, and legs from flaring up and turning angry red. This moisturizer is the first one that calms everything down within a day or two and actually keeps the eczema under control if we use it morning and night.
It goes on thick but absorbs nicely, no greasy film, and most importantly, it doesn’t sting or make him cry when we put it on broken skin. Within a week the rough patches softened, the redness faded, and he stopped scratching himself raw at night. We’ve been using it for almost three months now and the flare-ups are rare and mild when they do happen.
Smells like almost nothing (huge plus), no fragrance to irritate him. A little goes a long way, so the tub is lasting forever. The gentlest, most hydrating and calming baby and sensitive skin moisturizer

My go-to cream, even 8 years later when my babies are no longer babies. Calming, moisturizing, and so gentle. My kids and I can often get burning from other creams labeled for sensitive skin/fragrance free but this one doesn’t cause that. Superior product!

I bought this cream for my baby because my skin was very dry and irritated, and I really liked it. From the first days I noticed that the skin was more hydrated and less reddened. I like that it has no fragrance, which is ideal for babies with sensitive skin. The texture is soft, absorbs well and does not leave the skin greasy. In addition, it yields a lot because with a small amount it is enough. I definitely recommend it for babies with dry skin or prone to eczema. It has worked very well for me and I would buy it again.

Great product for babies!

Great product. Switched from Aveeno Ezcema cream to Eucerin and I have no regrets. The cream helped reduce my little ones flare ups and it doesn’t leave a greasy feeling afterwards. I use it all over his body. He’s 51/2 months now and his skin is smooth and barely any redness or inflammation.
