Audio-Technica AT-LP60XBT Automatic Wireless Belt-Drive Turntable at Vinyl Sound Toronto Canada

The AT-LP60XBT is a fully automatic belt-drive turntable with Bluetooth wireless output from Audio-Technica (Tokyo, Japan), available at Vinyl Sound in Toronto, Canada. Built on the same redesigned platform as the AT-LP60X, the AT-LP60XBT adds a CSR Bluetooth chipset with support for the Qualcomm aptX codec, delivering wireless audio quality well above the standard SBC baseline. The turntable plays 33-1/3 and 45 RPM records, includes a built-in switchable phono preamplifier for phono or 150 mV line-level output, and pairs directly with Bluetooth speakers, headphones, or wireless receivers up to approximately 10 metres away. The integral Dual Magnet cartridge with replaceable ATN3600L diamond stylus is factory-installed in the headshell, and fully automatic operation handles tonearm placement and return at the push of a button. Available in black, white/black, and red/black.

aptX Bluetooth Wireless and Wired Output

The AT-LP60XBT's CSR Bluetooth chipset supports both the Qualcomm aptX codec and SBC, with aptX delivering significantly lower latency and higher audio fidelity over a wireless link compared to SBC alone. When paired with an aptX-compatible receiver, speaker, or headphone, the turntable transmits a stereo audio stream that preserves substantially more of the original analogue signal than a standard Bluetooth connection. The wireless range extends to approximately 10 metres line-of-sight, making it practical to position the turntable in a dedicated listening area and stream audio to a speaker in another part of the room without running cables. For setups that prefer a wired connection, the detachable 3.5 mm to dual RCA output cable connects to any powered speaker or amplifier input directly, with the internal switchable phono preamplifier handling RIAA equalization and gain at either 2.5 mV phono or 150 mV line level.

Dual Magnet Cartridge, Redesigned Tonearm, and External AC Adapter

Audio-Technica's Dual Magnet cartridge technology places two independent magnets per channel to reduce inter-channel crosstalk and distortion, producing a cleaner signal from the groove than a conventional single-magnet design at the same price point. The cartridge is pre-installed in a redesigned headshell that improves alignment consistency and lowers resonance compared to the original AT-LP60, while the updated tonearm base further minimises vibrational colouration. The ATN3600L diamond stylus is user-replaceable without tools and accepts upgrades to the ATN3600LC or the ATN3600LE elliptical stylus for improved groove contact. An external AC adapter moves the AC/DC conversion stage outside the chassis, isolating it from the platter motor and tonearm assembly to measurably lower the electrical noise floor.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Audio-Technica AT-LP60XBT?

The Audio-Technica AT-LP60XBT is a fully automatic belt-drive turntable with Bluetooth wireless output and a built-in switchable phono preamplifier. It plays 33-1/3 and 45 RPM records and streams audio wirelessly via a CSR Bluetooth chipset supporting the Qualcomm aptX and SBC codecs. It also connects via a detachable RCA cable for traditional wired use. The AT-LP60XBT shares the same redesigned tonearm, headshell, die-cast aluminum platter, and external AC adapter as the wired-only AT-LP60X.

How does the AT-LP60XBT compare to the Pro-Ject Primary E BT or the Rega Planar 1 Plus?

The AT-LP60XBT, Pro-Ject Primary E BT, and Rega Planar 1 Plus serve different listener profiles. The Primary E BT and Planar 1 Plus are manual turntables requiring counterweight setup and cue-lever operation, and both use higher-specification tonearms with better bearing systems for improved resolution. The AT-LP60XBT is fully automatic with no setup steps and includes a switchable phono preamp, making it functional out of the box with any speaker. On wireless performance, the AT-LP60XBT supports aptX for improved Bluetooth fidelity, while the Primary E BT also offers Bluetooth output; the Planar 1 Plus does not include wireless connectivity. The AT-LP60XBT is the most accessible choice; the Pro-Ject and Rega models suit listeners prepared to invest more for higher analogue resolution.

What is the aptX codec and why does it matter for vinyl streaming?

aptX is a Qualcomm audio codec for Bluetooth that reduces compression artefacts and latency compared to the standard SBC codec. On a vinyl source, where dynamic range and transient detail are part of the listening experience, aptX preserves more of the analogue character of the signal across the wireless link. The AT-LP60XBT automatically negotiates aptX when paired with a compatible receiver; if the receiving device only supports SBC, it falls back to SBC without any user configuration required.

Can the AT-LP60XBT be used with a wired connection as well as Bluetooth?

Yes. The AT-LP60XBT includes a detachable 3.5 mm to dual RCA output cable for a conventional wired connection to any powered speaker, integrated amplifier, or AV receiver. The built-in switchable phono preamplifier can be set to phono output (2.5 mV) for components with a dedicated phono input, or line output (150 mV) for those without. Wired and Bluetooth outputs operate independently; either can be used at any time.

Does the AT-LP60XBT stylus need to be replaced, and what are the upgrade options?

The ATN3600L conical diamond stylus included with the AT-LP60XBT will wear over time and should be replaced after extended use to protect records. Audio-Technica offers two direct replacements: the ATN3600LC conical stylus as a like-for-like swap, and the ATN3600LE elliptical stylus as a performance upgrade. The elliptical tip makes narrower contact with the groove wall for improved detail retrieval and lower stylus force on the vinyl surface. Both styli install in seconds without tools.

What Bluetooth speakers work well with the AT-LP60XBT?

The AT-LP60XBT pairs with any Bluetooth speaker or headphone supporting the A2DP profile. For best results, pairing with an aptX-capable speaker maximises wireless audio quality; compatible options include the Audio-Technica AT-SP65XBT wireless speaker, the Sonos Era 100, and the JBL Charge 5. Speakers that support only SBC will still work but at standard Bluetooth quality. The turntable remembers its last paired device and reconnects automatically on power-up.

Where can I buy the Audio-Technica AT-LP60XBT in Toronto or Canada?

The Audio-Technica AT-LP60XBT is available at Vinyl Sound, an authorised Audio-Technica dealer in Toronto, Canada. Vinyl Sound carries the AT-LP60XBT in all available colour variants alongside compatible Bluetooth speakers, stylus upgrades, and accessories. Strong legs, somewhat industrial but trendy also
Size: side table leg
Good legs, some what utilitarian or industrial, they are strong as they are made out of pipe, and assembly is fairly easy once you get the idea of how it goes together. They are roughly 1.5 feet across maybe a bit less adjustable height on each leg, if you have wood floors you may want to put a pad under each leg as they are full metal pipes. Pretty interesting idea and does not cost much.

Pretty good, take your time and install it well
Size: side table leg
Materials are pretty solid, but once assembled it’s not as sturdy as you would think it should be since the material itself was solid, i say give them a chance, everything out there that’s similar is way over priced

Robust pipe & fittings with a beautiful, smooth black finish
Size: side table leg
This set of pipe & fittings for use as low table legs is heavy duty and aesthetically pleasing. Especially when the pieces are handled, the tactile sensation is much nicer than with plumbing steel pipe because this product is beautifully finished smooth. The black pipes are quite smooth as well as the fittings. The pieces are all also pretty robust, though the wall thicknesses are less than in pipe for pressurized water systems. Of course that makes sense as this product does not need to hold fluid pressure. In my view they got the heaviness factor of this product just right; it's not as heavy or robust as black pipe used in natural gas supplies, but still robust and pretty heavy. Assembled, this product is absolutely stiff and unyielding for a solid table that could hold a man's weight easily. The feet utilize a brilliant scheme so that each foot can be independently adjusted for an uneven floor. Thus a level table on an uneven floor is easily accomplished. The feet simply extend the effective leg length by screwing counter-clockwise. To prevent any shifting at the threads adding some pipe compound or teflon tape may be advised. Even masking or duct tape might work as the idea is to just fill any gaps where male threads meet female threads. The four flanges at the tops of the legs provide a wide, solid surface for attaching the table top, with either hidden screws underneath or you could through-bolt a glass table top (provided you have the skill to drill glass!). I think this product would look great with a glass top. Assembly is quick and easy. The hardest part is drilling holes underneath the table top to accept screws. No pipe wrenches are needed as the pieces screw together by hand to an adequate tightness. If any doubt whether they are tightened enough have a strong person with grippy gloves finish. The "X" in the center attaches to the legs with a very clever machine screw system tightened with the included hex wrench. This is presumably because if tightened simply by screwing the fittings, the point of snugness would not likely be where the "T" fittings are exactly vertical. The maker has solved this problem so that you are assured that all legs will be in the perfect vertical position once everything is tight. The setup is also nice and rigid once tightened. This is a huge benefit of steel pipe projects; they are really solid. The black finish is clearly very durable, like a powder coat. It appears that it will provide excellent protection against rust. Coverage is complete; I found no dings or scratches anywhere on any piece. Overall this is a very well-designed product for function and aesthetics. Perfect for a beautifully renovated warehouse condo where an industrial vibe is desired in a rock-solid table that won't shift around. The smoothness of the pipe is top notch. I've used lots of pipe in projects, some of it actual water pipe and some decorative pipe such as this. I've never seen better quality decorative pipe as this maker put in the effort to finish it beautifully smooth. At currently $34.99 I find the price quite reasonable too.
