All new for 2020, the Secret 102 starts with the Titanal frame construction introduced by Volkl in 2019, and then combined with an all new 3D Radius sidecut geometry.  Three different radii along the sidecut (tight radius in the ski's center, longer radius at tip and tail) allow for an all new level of versatility.  Shorter turns when you need them, longer turns when you want, and very easy transitions back and forth.  Never has a ski this wide been able to ski so easily at any speed.

Volkl says, "The Secret 102 gives expert female skiers the best possible blend of powder skiing and all mountain ripping. The new 102mm chassis delivers the needed float for a powder day, and the three distinct radii in our new 3D Radius sidecut design work together to allow an incredibly short turn on such a wide ski with no loss in float or stability. A Full Sidewall construction and Tip and Tail rocker round out the design parameters in this newest of legendary women's freeride skis from Völkl's German engineers."

Titanal Frame Technology reduces weight while still providing strong edge hold and all terrain handling. This new construction, paired with a new shape and rocker profile still follows the initial philosophy, functioning as a never-failing and always reliable performance ski everywhere. To take on all snow conditions, from powder to ice, and steeps to groomers requires a well-designed ski that turns compromises into advantages. Thanks to early taper in the tip, a 96mm waist width, and the perfect match between rocker and ski flex, the Mantra’s signature soft snow performance is forgiving and confidence-inspiring.  Titanal construction provides the stability at speed and edge hold on hard snow that has made the Mantra a favorite of skiers all over the world.

Volkl's all new Titanal frame construction places Titanal everywhere it needs to be, but not where it doesn't.  This new techology gives the ski a lighter, more energetic and playful feel, with no sacrifice in stability and edge hold that only Titanium can provide.

The Secret 102s camber/rocker profile also contributes to this skis amazing versatility,  Camber underfoot increases edge hold, provides a smoother ride, and also increases rebound from turn to turn.  The smooth feel and quickness from edge to edge may be the biggest improvement these new Mantras offer compared to the previous skis.

There is also a significant advantage to the shape of this new generation Secret.  The longer tip profile, paired with increased taper improves the performance of this ski in deeper snow.  The tip shape makes a significant difference in how a ski floats in deeper snow, and also the ski handles variable, cut up conditions.  The Secret 102 is great in the morning, still great when conditions start to get skied out, and really awesome in the afternoon, when the pow has turned to a bump field.
