The SCR Module is a critical component in the water heater. It's responsible for handling the power applied to the heating elements by the circuit board. When the SCR Modulet is in short circuit, the electronic board looses control over it which in turn will allowed uncontrolled full power to the heating elements. The water heater will produce a high temperature that will trip thermostat.
