His first published novel Marazan came out in 1926 and he was a prolific writer, publishing some 24 novels over his lifetime whilst also working as an engineer, setting up his own aviation company and in 1950 moving to a small farm in Australia with his wife and two children. And all this before the proliferation of productivity hacks.
