37420 The Scottish Hosteller Large Logo w/Highland ‘stag’

No. 37420 was the penultimate member of the Inverness ‘eight’, Nos. 37414-37421, the octet of locomotives allocated to the far north for working passenger and freight trains to Aberdeen, Kyle of Lochalsh and Wick/Thurso, that famously wore the Highland Rail ‘stag’ branding. Converted to Class 37/4 configuration in December 1985 its new specification included various cosmetic upgrades as well as electric train heat (ETH) capability rated at 30, enough to provide juice to six or seven pressure vent Mk.2s, modified CP7 bogies regeared for a top speed of 80 mph and Brush BA1005A alternators to replace the original generators. The Inverness batch was also fitted with Radio Electronic Token Block (RETB) equipment soon after ‘refurbishment’ to work the Dingwall-Kyle line and the recently commissioned section to Wick and Thurso. Like all 31 members of the sub class, the former No. 37297 (originally D6997), was released from Crewe Works in large logo livery. However, in comparison to the Eastfield and Cardiff allocations, and the RETB-fitted Class 37/0s that preceded them, this group did not universally receive names.Happily No. 37420 was one of the three that did, being dedicated The Scottish Hosteller on 28 June 1986 at the Inverness Open Day. After four and a half years working out of the Highland capital, it joined the Thornaby FCTY Trainload pool in May 1990 retaining its full Scottish regalia, albeit with a colourful Kingfisher logo on the cabside, until it became the last ‘37/4’ painted into the general user InterCity Mainline scheme the following December. Six years later it also became the last Type 3 to carry Regional Railways livery and it was switched off in July 2000. It was cut up at Hull’s of Rotherham in February 2008.

Good little party speaker!
Style: X3206 with One Woofer
For the price, this thing is amazing! Let me cite pros and cons: Con - On battery, the bass is not very good and overall volume is not very loud. However, if you have to run on battery for a small group, it is definitely "loud enough" for a group. Such as background music for an outdoor dinner party, or cocktail party. Pro- Plugged in, the power and bass is impressive! MUCH Better than I expected. Connected it to my laptop for karaoke and it is definitely plenty loud for any house party, or plugged in, loud enough for any backyard party! ALSO - the lights that are included are pretty cool. And, it has a variety of input connectors for just about any application. Again, in this price range, it is a hit!

Big controllable sound! Buy it
Style: X3206 with One Woofer
Just buy this! It will not disappoint. I bought it for a family reunion gathering in a 5000 square-foot backyard garden. There were multiple seating stations all around and it could be heard from any location without being turned up all the way. Even at the halfway point it is extremely loud. I love that it is waterproof Because I left it outside overnight when the sprinklers came on and it was just fine. The battery charge lasted for five or six hours. It doesn’t take long at all to recharge. It has a good weight to it so it’s not going to blow away, but it’s not too heavy to move around. I use it in the garage. I use it while cleaning. I use it on campsites. It is a fantastic speaker. It is a little large, but not too large that it’s not manageable. I only say that because I have a BOSE small Bluetooth speaker and if you’re used to that small size, this obviously is larger. I have no Bluetooth connection issues with it at all. It plays my Amazon prime music from my phone library perfectly. I would absolutely buy one again. While my BOSE Bluetooth speaker is great, I needed it as an extra boost for a DJ party atmosphere and this did the trick. Here’s a tip, create a playlist on your phone for hours of streaming music or go to YouTube and save your favorite music videos of live music DJs and you have your very own DJ all night.

Best karaoke speaker!
Style: X3206 with One Woofer, Style: X3206 with One Woofer
I was looking to buy a karaoke speaker and all were underpowered or overpriced. This went on sale ~100 and for that price it is THE perfect karaoke speaker. It has dual mic inputs for duets, (4) voice effects, voice echo. Each mic had it's own volume adjustment, there's also adjustment for echo, bass and treble. These are all knobs which i like a lot. The volume is push button which i don't like and would have preferred a knob also . Still, it's a lot of fun for karaoke! What I Iike a lot is the line out. Why? If I feel it needs more power, I can connect to any other speaker with a 3.5mm input. To me this is better than TWS systems that only pair with the same model(s). Speaking of power, it is ok for the size and price. It will sound good indoors at your home or backyard. It may not be the best for a larger hall. But it does have that line-out jack that will let you connect to (almost) any other speaker you want. What I have found lacking so far is the battery life. Fully charged, it was used over BT connection for music at ~50% volume for maybe 1.5 hours with lights and for podcasts at ~15% volume, no lights for 6 .5 hours before it died. So the 14 hour claim must be an exaggeration or only under very specific conditions. Also, bass is adequate, but it's not a 'booming' bass but you can tell it's there. Overall volume is good but will also depend on the device connected.
